Aren't toddlers precious? Especially when
they've been dolled up to look as though they're desperately trying to
recapture the youth of their early 30s? While some people are judgmental about
beauty pageants for kids, Little Miss Perfect, airing Wednesdays on WE:
Women's Entertainment, tries not to preach but rather leaves the judging to
people who know where to buy batons that fit 3-year-old hands. So call your
friends and neighbors and tell them the talent portion will include going potty
and tying shoelaces 'cause we're throwing a Little Miss Perfect party!
Sure, you can ignore the People's Choice
Awards, the MTV Movie Awards and even the SAG Awards. But you are a heartless
communist if you choose to look the other way on Hollywood's biggest night! The
81st annual Academy Awards and all of the hoopla that surrounds them -- the
red-carpet interviews, the glamour, the wagering -- air Sunday, Feb. 22, on ABC.
Even if the last movie you saw was Gigli, you owe it to yourself to call
everyone you know and invite them over for a night they'll never forget -- the
2009 Oscars!
Nothing says "Valentine's Day is over" like a pregnant teenager struggling with her biology homework. But on The Secret Life of the American Teenager, airing Mondays on ABC Family, that's just what you get -- a girl struggling with teachers, boyfriends and OB-GYNs. It's like Juno meets Zoey 101 meets The Wonder Years. In other words, it's the perfect show to party around. So call your friends and neighbors -- it's time we had a talk about abstinence.

Sure, the Grammys are this week, but they feel so corporate and impersonal. And frankly, aren't we all a little over the corporate thing right now? But there is still a true bastion of musical integrity on TV, and it airs Saturdays on PBS (check local listings). We're talking, of course, about Austin City Limits, a show that has given us music, pure and simple, since 1975.
