Staying at a world-class hotel is one of life's great pleasures. But watching Fox's new sitcom Do Not Disturb, airing Wednesdays, makes it look as if it might be more fun to work at one. But life at The Inn is more than turndowns and wake-up calls -- it's probably also a lot of pillow talk and room service. So if you like swank digs with sheets of Egyptian cotton and front desks manned by stylish clerks, call your friends and neighbors -- we're throwing a Do Not Disturb party!

Setting the scene:
You can't have a lobby without a front desk, so be sure to set one up on one side of the room and have it manned by an attractive clerk. Have each guest check in immediately and give him or her a room key with a number on it. As the party progresses, draw numbers for giveaways, including DVDs of such classics as Grand Hotel, Holiday Inn and The Shining. As for the decor, fill the rooms with beds and nightstands, and include menus for room service. Make sure the menus are tailored to what you're serving. Place matching luggage next to some of the beds, and hire a few local college kids to dress as bellmen, serve the drinks and occasionally move the luggage from place to place. Have stacks of extra pillows in white pillowcases pilled high in one corner. Invitations should be shaped like Do Not Disturb hangers with party information on the back.

Attire:
Recommend guests arrive as bellboys, hotel maids or glamour icons carrying suitcases and hatboxes. Another option for guests could be white hotel bathrobes.

On the menu:
Complimentary champagne at check-in with chocolate-dipped strawberries. Other traditional hotel favorites: club sandwiches for the late-night crowd, scrambled eggs and toast for the really late-night crowd. Have them delivered via rolling cart.

On the hi-fi:
Hotel California by the Eagles, Heartbreak Hotel by Elvis, Love in an Elevator by Aerosmith and Chelsea Hotel by Leonard Cohen.

The showstopper:
While Super 8 is probably a fine place to spend an evening, do yourself a favor and have this party at the world's top-ranked hotel according to Travel & Leisure magazine -- the Singita Sabi Sand in South Africa. Glass and timber suites on stilts overlooking Kruger National Park will take your breath away -- as will the service and amenities.
