So here's my big announcement of the week. I think the big "CSI" trilogy worked. I do like Dr. Ray Langston better now than I did two weeks ago. Sure there were laughable moments. I couldn't stop giggling every time Horatio called him "Dr. Ray." I don't know how David Caruso can make saying someone's...

Full confession - I think most of you know that I'm a Red Sox fan. So once the Sox are out of the baseball playoffs, the games going from nail-biting excitement to a sports event that gets in the way of my TV viewing. Thankfully the pesky World Series is out of the way and FOX...

I feel like we've know each other long enough that I can tell you I waved at the TV when Tim Riggins first appeared during the fourth season premiere of "Friday Night Lights" (Wednesday at 9 p.m. on DirectTV's 101 Network). Yes I know deep down he's a fictional character but I was just so happy...

I've been trying to figure out why some people (including me) have really been enjoying "Cougar Town" (Wednesday at 9:30 p.m. on ABC) and some people loathe it with a passion I reserve for shows like "Accidentally on Purpose" and "The Ex List." Sure shows and performances have divided us before and certainly one person's...

Last night's episode of "Mad Men" was great except for one thing - there was no Joan. "Mad Men" has created this world where characters effortlessly move in and out of episodes from the background to the center of the action. For example, we saw little of Pete and a lot more of Sal last...

"Private Practice" had probably the most memorable season finale last year. But not necessarily for the right reasons. In a dramatic shift in tone, Violet (Amy Brenneman) was kidnapped by her crazed patient (Amanda Foreman) who performed a violent, certainly not medically approved c-section so that she could take Violet's baby. The finale was gory, unsettling,...

Christinaapplegate_samanthawho_240 Many of you have aptly titled "Samantha Who?," which returns to the schedule Thursday at 8:30 p.m. on ABC, "Samantha Where?" The show hasn't been on the air since December 1. ABC kept adding it to the schedule and taking it off to make room for epic long episodes of "The Bachelor." The funny comedy deserves more than a four month break in the middle of the season.
