Zacharylevi_chuck_290 Phew!

The official season has ended!

Before we bring on the summer season, a few final thoughts:

Best final finale line: "Guys I know kung fu." Chuck to Casey and Sarah on "Chuck." But how do we feel about Chuck's new super, super, super powers?

Worst running scene: Look I'm glad she wasn't trapped by a cougar and my fears about Kim's return to "24" turned out to be greatly exaggerated but Jack's daughter remains unconvincing as anyone who can save the day.

Worst surprise: I knew the minute that sheriff showed up he was connected to Red John on "The Mentalist," how about you?

Best surprise: Maybe I should blame the jetlag, but I really didn't know George was the John Doe patient on "Grey's Anatomy."

Worst breakup: Jack and Samantha's ending their relationship on "Without a Trace." "We never could get our timing right, could we?" does not a break up speech make.

Best series finale that wasn't: I loved the "Scrubs" finale, it was poignant and beautifully done. I'm not going to lie to you, like you guys, I'm a little worried that the show is coming back.

Best wedding: Tied: Ellie and Awesome's second one on "Chuck" and Cameron and Chase on "House."

Worst Wedding: Meredith and Derek on "Grey's Anatomy." Yeah, I don't think a post-it note wedding will hold up in court.

Least believable plot twist: Did anyone think little MJ was really in danger on "Desperate Housewives?" That would have been way to cruel for this dramedy.

Funniest finale moment: The kidney song on "30 Rock."

Worst finale: Is it just me or was the "One Tree Hill" finale just a series of montages?

Best Finale Payoff: Finally getting to see how the goat was at Ted's 31st birthday on "How I Met Your Mother."

Tackiest finale moment: Why in the midst of all those great performances (I heart Keith Urban), would "American Idol" bring back Bikini Girl and Tatiana? These were cheap, cheap moments.

Most bizarre cliffhanger: Did anyone really get the end of "90210?" How utterly wacky was Annie's breakdown?

Best cliffhanger: Like I said I don't think it was the best finale "Lost" ever gave us but it still left me hanging.

Most sweet cliffhanger: Jim and Pam finding out they are expecting a baby on "The Office."

Finale that didn't quite work: I'm going to have to go with "Bones."

Biggest finale cop out: I still think we should have definitely known whether or not Izzie lived or died on "Grey's Anatomy."

Finale that left me wanting more and more and more: What will happen with Coach Taylor next season? Will Riggins really go to college? Unless we get Direct TV, we are going to have to wait until summer 2010 to see season four of "Friday Night Lights" on NBC.

Finale moment I'm most worried about: I'm concerned about Rebecca on "Brothers & Sisters." How about you?

Most gruesome finale moment: I still can't believe "Private Practice" ended it's season with Violet under attack and her baby in jeopardy.

Most surprisingly touching finale moment: Jack on his "deathbed" asking for forgiveness on "24."

What are some of your highlights and lowlights of season and series finales? Talk about it below.

Quotes of the Week

"It's always something with you people." Rose to Sawyer, Kate and Juliet on "Lost."

"We traveled back 30 years in time and you're still trying to find ways to shoot each other." Rose to Sawyer, Kate and Juliet on "Lost." That's right I was so happy to see Rose and Bernard I'm including two Rose quotes.

"We both love drama. We both lead pretty dramatic lives." Brenda to Adriana on "90210." I think that was a passing the torch scene, how about you?

"Congratulations. I'm going with you." Gossip Girl to the gang on "Gossip Girl." Is it any surprise she'll be blogging about their college activities?

"I would like to thank you for all the help you gave me today." Janice making peace with Chloe on "24."

"A guy crying about a chicken and a baby? I thought this was a comedy show." Milton (Alan Alda) on "30 Rock." Thanks to TV Gal read David who recognized this as a sly inside joke about a famous episode of "M*A*S*H."

Exchanges of the Week

"Convince me to do what?" Ben to Locke on "Lost."

"I'm not going to kill Jacob, Ben. You are." Locke's response.

**********************************

"You kill him and no one will ever know the full extent of this conspiracy." Jack to Tony on "24."

"I'm not going to kill him Jack, you are." Tony's response.

**********************************

"We sure had quite a year." Liz to Jack on "30 Rock."

"What are you talking about? It's May." Jack's response.

Ask TV Gal

Do you know what the status of "Harper's Island" is? Just curious. John.

Well, John the good news is "Harper's Island" will complete its run on CBS and right now it is scheduled to run every Saturday at 9 p.m. until the series finale in early July. The bad news is that the show has not done well ratings wise (hence the move from Thursday to Saturday night). Before it premiered, producers had said that if successful they could see doing another 13-episode mystery with a completely new cast. It's unlikely that will happen now.

Why is the "season" of My Boys so short? Hasn't it only been, like, 6 episodes long? Marci

Actually it's been nine episodes but the season seemed super short to me too so I checked with my friends at TBS and apparently nine episodes was all season two was also -- that's just what the show was signed on for. I guess episodes fly by fast when you are having fun. You can get a sneak peek at the season three finale which will air next Tuesday, May 26 at 9 p.m. on TBS by clicking here. And make sure to tune in, the show hasn't yet been picked up for a fourth season.

By the way, you can now follow me on Twitter.

That's all for today. I'll be back on Monday to launch the 2009 Amy Awards where you pick the categories, you pick the nominees and you pick the winners. I'll also have a review of the new show "Mental" and much more. Have a question? See a familiar face? Want to nominate a quote of the week? Write me at amytvgal@zap2it.com. Have a great weekend. Talk to you on Monday.

Amy - great overview of the finales....i loved the SCrubs finale too, and for them to bring it back will be a bit bizarre....

As for 90210, Shenae did her best acting in that episode...not quite redeemed but enough....

And I was NOT a fan of the post it wedding either!

Happy Memorial Day EVERYONE!

I really am struggling with the season ending cliffhangers for NCIS and Criminal Minds. I was actually depressed and so concerned about Ziva and Hotchner at the end of those shows...can't I get some happiness?

Part of the problem with Harper's Island was a lack of clear marketing. If it weren't for my incessant need to read about tv, I would never have known what it was or when it was on.

Glad to see you on Twitter, Amy!

I wasn't bothered by Bikini Girl's return since it gave Kara one last shot at making a good impression. The Tatiana/Normal Gentle stuff seemed fake, but I got a few chuckles. Yay for Kris, even though I wanted Adam to win (but I always liked both really throughout).

I look forward to your analysis of SYTYCD and the recent controversy there. I'm bummed, but still want to watch the show for now. A second season in the fall might be a little too much though.

After that horrible season finale, I am done with Grey's Anatomy next season. With Fringe & Office/Community/30 Rock airing in the same time period, my DVR is booked. Will most likely break up with Private Practice as well.

My Boys' is already airing its finale next week?? Suckage!

I figure Josh Schwartz and Chris Fedak have built more than enough cred with their audience, so I am not at all worried about Chuck's awesome new powers. I'm dying to know what sorts of powers he will flash on! They promise that his "everyman" persona remains intact, so I'm good.

I really wouldn't mind Scrubs coming back if it were to go in a total new direction from the start, but word that Zach Braff has signed on to be in at least 6 more episodes disappoints me. I love ZB, but I really wish that when JD drove from the Sacred Heart parking lot, that was the last time we saw him. It really cheapens a fantastic good-bye by bringing JD back for a handful more episodes. That might would work a few seasons in the future, but certainly not right out of the gate the season following the touching send-off.

The best thing about the Bauer's death bed forgiveness scene was the wholesale freak out from right-wing fans at the sight of their greatest hero seeking solace from a Muslim cleric, and not realizing that it exposed their naked bigotry for all to see.

I did not get the ending of 90210 either. In fact, I had to rewind it a few times and still could not figure it out. Maybe someone could explain it. Why did she suddenly stop? Did she hit something? Then, are we supposed to think she is in trouble because someone was following her?
