Love is in the air on TV

Elizabethmitchell_lost_290 It's springtime and love is in the air.

But, much like life, we don't always agree on who should be together. I really like P.J. and Bobby together on "My Boys" but I've learned many of you don't. So I thought we would take a look at the new couples who have popped up this season and discuss . . .

Juliet and Sawyer on "Lost:" One of the smartest decisions "Lost" made this season was the role reversal between Jack and Sawyer. Sawyer is in charge and Jack is surprisingly okay with that. While this quadrangle (Jack, Kate, Sawyer, Juliet) was brewing last season, it was with Jack being torn between the two women and Kate being torn between two men. But when the timeline advanced three years and showed Juliet and James (as she and Locke call him) in domestic bliss it somehow made perfect sense. And their union was a nice departure for the show in that it was free of angst. I'm rooting for them to stay together, how about you?

Charlie and Chelsea on "Two and a Half Men:" Even in comedies, characters need to evolve so they aren't perpetually stuck in a revolving story line. We had seasons of Charlie's womanizing, it's been great and very funny to see him commit to one woman.

Owen and Cristina on "Grey's Anatomy:" I really like this relationship because it made sense to me that Cristina would wait to date again after her break-up with Burke and it made sense to me that she would be drawn to someone as complex as Owen. Sometimes it really does seem like this is the only adult relationship on the show. I fear their relationship has the potential to become melodramatic but so far it's been the season's bright spot.

Barney and Robin on "How I Met Your Mother:" I've been a fan of this pairing since it was first hinted at and this season Barney's silently pining for Robin has added depth to his character (Barney has feelings!) while placing him in an unfamiliar situation (he doesn't have confidence to declare his love). Plus it's allowed the show runners to write more scenes between Barney and Lilly, who became Barney's exclusive confidant. Now I've heard the concerns that if Barney starts dating Robin, he won't be Barney anymore. But I have faith that the show runners won't let us down.

Penny and Leonard on "The Big Bang Theory:" The comedy has successfully avoided letting the series wallow in a "will they or won't they" dynamic. I kind of think they should let Penny and Leonard date for more than five seconds and see what happens. I don't think it will take away from the show at all.

So that's how I'm feeling about some of the new couples who have gotten together (or almost gotten together) this season? How about you? Also want new couples have you liked this season? Talk about it below.

Where Have I Seen Them Before?

Katie and Ryan were so excited to see Mayim Bialik, Blossom herself, as the best friend of the dead bride-to-be on"Bones." But we all wish she had had more than one scene.

Cristian de la Fuente had a busy Sunday night. He's Raphael on "In Plain Sight" and he was Cal, the temp accountant Sarah slept with, on"Brothers & Sisters."

Robin recognized Maureen Flannigan as Leslie on "90210." She was Matt's girlfriend Shana on "7th Heaven."

Dennis recognized Andrew J. West as Ashleigh's new love interest on "Greek." I almost didn't recognize him with his shorter haircut. He's also Rose's boyfriend Max on "Privileged" and he's Hunter on the online series "Rockville CA."

Jeff recognized Dean Norris, Hank on "Breaking Bad," as the man who wanted Miles to help him talk to his dead son on "Lost."

Cindi recognized Thad Luckinbill as Connor on "CSI:NY." He's J.T. Hellstrom on "Young & the Restless" and you'll see him this Friday on "Ghost Whisperer," where he'll play a soap star.

Whatt recognized Jim Beaver, Bobby on "Supernatural," is the sheriff on "Harper's Island." He was also Whitney Ellsworth on "Deadwood."

Kathie recognized Karina Lombard as the French journalist and latest woman to fall for Tommy on "Rescue Me." She was Marina on "The L Word" and Alana Mareva on "The 4400."

Lauren recognized Tania Raymonde, Ben's "daughter" Alex on "Lost," as Lexi on "Bones." Raymonde has also been seen this season as Frankie on "Cold Case."

Dennis also caught Lisa Vidal is Mia the news reporter on "Southland." Vidal was Sandy on "ER" and Magda on "The Division."

That's all for today. I'm back on Friday with quotes of the week, Ask TV Gal and more. Have a question? Seen a familiar face? Want to nominate a quote of the week? Write me at amytvgal@zap2it.com. Talk to you on Friday.

Yeah when I saw Mayim Bialik I totally thought 'There's the murderer' and then I was like 'wait what huh she's not even in the episodes!!!!' Waste of what could have bheen a very special bones ;>

I am all for Juliet and Sawyer on Lost. Kate has been getting on my nerves for a loooong time now! Someone needs to remind her she can't have her cake and eat it, too.

The relationship between Charlie and Chelsea on 2 1/2 Men will surely fall apart. It's not 2 1/2 Men and a Woman.

I LOVE Juliette & Sawyer together and hope Kate dies a quick painful death while Juliette and Sawyer live happily ever after! Love Barney & Robin togetherand I totally think the writers can find a way for them to be together without changing Barney too much. As for Owen and Christina ... the potential to become melodramatic? Please. The two of them are already so melodramatic I can barely tolerate their scenes. Everytime they are on screen it is all over-the-top music playing and longing looks.

Agree - i'm a fan of Sawyer & Juliet, Cristina & Owen and Barney & Robin.

But NOT a fan of Jack & Kate...well I'm a fan of JACK...NOT Kate....

I'll always remeber Maureen Flannigan as Evie on the 80's sitcom "Out of This World".

Ella, settle down.

On another note, anyone know ihen In Plain Sight will air in Canada?

I totally want Juliet and Sawyer to stay togther. Greatest idea ever!

I pretty much love the Barney and Robin story on HIMYM as well. It wouldn't ruin his character to date Robin. I mean, we're watching him pine for her now, which I think has only made me love him more.

Other couples: Booth and Brennan. We all know where this season's heading, and last Thursday's episode is exactly how great the show is capable of being and how I hope they handle the end of the season. These two obviously genuinely care for each other, and it's only right that they could actually be a good couple (or at least, that's what I'm hoping comes out of it - them becoming a couple). Oh, and as far as the debate goes: It's BOOTH. Can't be Brennan. I actually think I might be offended if they try to make it Brennan to be clever. But it's been Booth for 4 years.

I'm hoping Sam and Todd get together (or back together?) on Samantha Who.

I'm rooting for Sawyer and Juliet as well. I really hope they stay together and make it together through next season.
