October 2008
I am not pleased with the ads for the season finale of Army Wives (Sunday at 10 p.m. on Lifetime).
Many of us haven't ever really gotten over the cancellation of Arrested Development. But when I watched the first two episode of the third season of 30 Rock (premiering Thursday at 9:00 p.m. on NBC), I felt that the spirit of Arrested Development alive and well -- and not just because Will Arnett is back as Jack's (Alec Baldwin) corporate rival Devon Banks.
I finally have a new favorite show this season. Between Do Not Disturb, Kath & Kim (which actually managed to be worse than I feared it would be) and The Ex List, I was beginning to think that the new TV season and I would have to permanently break up.
So after a 17 hour trip home (where American Airlines showed the same episode of The Big Bang Theory at least three times. I think they heard that I had become a fan of the show), I returned Saturday from a two week honeymoon in Hawaii. And I think you all will be proud of me --- I actually didn't watch any TV the whole time we were gone. Can you believe it? I really can't. I've never completely dropped out of pop culture like that.
A good and clever idea is the foundation for a good TV show.
I think we all know by now that sometimes I irrationally dislike a show.
That my anger towards it does not fit the crime the show has committed.
That's the case with The Ex List (premiering Friday at 9 p.m. on CBS).
