Breakfast at the Peach Pit . . .
I know some of you just can't take it with my undying devotion to 90210. If you are one of those people, please skip to the next section of the column. No need to get yourself all worked up.
But for the rest of you I must tell you that tomorrow the CW is having a breakfast at The Peach Pit and Joe E. Tata (Nat) is going to be there. Now how they are going to a hotel conference room into the Peach Pit I have no idea but I am so there. I'm wondering if I'll be so overcome in Nat's presence that I'll feel compelled to tell him my problems, try to buy tickets to a concert at the Peach Pit After Dark or ask if he can pass Dylan a note for me. The breakfast is, of course, to promote the new version of 90210 that is coming to the CW this fall. I remain equally excited and full of dread about this project. The CW doesn't have an episode we can see yet but I should be able to tell you more about the new show on Monday after I've had a chance to talk to some of the new cast.
Other things of note from Press Tour:
Sarah Chalke will be back as Stella on How I Met Your Mother this fall. Both Chalke and CBS President Nina Tassler have stated they don't think Chalke is the mother which makes me think she's totally the mother. That whole doth protest too much business. And here's a fun fact --Chalke's casting was so last minute (remember she came in to replace Alicia Silverstone) that the lab coat Chalke wears on Mother is actually the same lab coat she wears on Scrubs. They covered up the name "Dr. Elliot Reed" with a pocket protector on Mother.
I absolutely loved the season premiere of CSI (October 9). And I think what many of you have said is right, the show does have a strong cast and strong supporting characters. I do still think we will miss the weekly presence of Gil Grissom. They are not replacing his character but the show will add another male character who won't come in as the new boss and sounds fairly interesting. Tassler described him as a character who has learned that he has the same type of genetic make up as people who are serial killers. So when he joins the series, this new character is on a journey of trying to figure out who he is. It sounds kind of heavy for a show that's already heavy but I really won't know what to make of it until we know who has been cast and we see the episodes. Now that you know a little about this new character, do you have any suggestions on who the show should cast? If he weren't about to go on tour, I would think Donnie Walhberg, who was so terrific in Boomtown, would be a nice addition to CSI. Also, I think because I would love to see some of The West Wing men back on the small screen, I could see Bradley Whitford or Richard Schiff in the role. How about you?
I was so excited to hear that both Daniel Dae Kim will be returning to Lost and James Denton will be returning to Desperate Housewives. Now of course we don't know whether or not Jin will just be in flashbacks (ditto for Denton) but I'm happy to know that both those actors will be part of their shows next season. Desperate Housewives will flashback to fill in the intervening five years since they jumped ahead. And Neil McDonough will move to Wisteria Lane and bring his piercing blue eyes and this season's mystery with him.
Some Fun Links
I have been very remiss in not telling you about the latest project from Joss Whedon, who as you all know also has the new FOX series Dollhouse coming our way midseason. I know I've been remiss because I've received about 25 emails that begin, "Why are you ignoring Joss?" Check out Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog at www.drhorrible.com. It's a three part series that stars the recently Emmy nominated Neil Patrick Harris (yay!), Nathan Fillion and Felicia Day. Definitely check it out.
And OMG, the CW has released new teaser about the second season of Gossip Girl which will feature Blair behaving badly. Here are the links: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CzJIx30mAxE, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GO3l7O5EX0o&feature=user

And you can get a sneak peak at the brand new (and hopefully very improved) season of Heroes, but clicking here.
By the way, you all have been suspiciously silent about the upcoming season of Heroes. Are you looking forward to it? Are you totally over the show? Have you forgotten about it completely. An inquiring TV Gal wants to know.
Quotes of the Week
"I think it's best for both of us if I regard you as something like an old flame," Billy Croelick to Brenda on The Closer.
Weekend Assignment
It is so worth your time to check out the Sunday first season marathon of Mad Men, beginning at noon on AMC. Believe the hype about this series. I promise you, you won't be disappointed.
Okay that's all for today. I'm back on Monday with a review of the new season of Mad Men (it's amazing), the new season of How to Look Good Naked and much more. Have a question? Seen a familiar face? Want to nominate a quote of the week? Definitely write me at amytvgal@zap2it.com and let me know -- since I'm out in LA, I haven't been able to keep up with all our shows so I need your help more than ever. Have a great weekend. Talk to you on Monday.

first post?
yay!
yay!
sorry about the last one, rookie mistake. I'm so gonna check out the new 90210, but I really can't be that full of dread, since the original was anything but a chef d'oeuvre.
And I'm so curious about how Jin is going to strike back! Kind of hopin' it's just through flashbacks this season (don't kill me Amy), because they'd have to invent something really special and then we'll have the real deal in the last season...
On the other hand, I wouldn't miss Denton on Desperate too much. He was cute at first, but I never really got over the fact that he displays just one emotion - better say no emotion at all - on his cute face.
Lookin' forward to Heroes, but with at least half of the expectation I had last summer.

I kept saying that Stella on HIMYM was nothing but Blond Doctor from Scrubs recycled. Thanks for the confirmation.
Dude. Dr Horrible is flip farkin' fantastic. Seriously.
:)
I've loved every minute of it, I've stayed up until midnight (a big deal since I have a 6 mth baby!) to watch it the moment each Act airs, I've d/l'd the webs (I'm calling them "webs". Like "eps" for episodes. "webs" for webisodes") and I find myself humming the tunes while I'm rocking my baby to sleep.
Just go watch it and enjoy the Horribleness that is NPH and the Hammer of Captain Hammer.
I just heard about Dr. Horrible on NPR this evening and couldn't wait to get home to check it out. Awesome! Wolowitz is even in it.
Please get all the scoop you can on 90210! Cant wait to hear more about it. Im highly anticipating this show!
I've been watching Dr.Horrible since the first act went up and humming along during the day to the music.
Thanks for spreading the word about Joss and his wonderfulness.
