As much as I'm going to miss Lost after the May 29th season finale, I think it will be better for my overall health to have a little bit of a time out from the show.
Because the last two episodes have completely and totally stressed me out. I'm almost relieved that next week Lost is preempted for the two hour season finale of Grey's Anatomy. I had nightmares after both episodes. You know the kind where you wake up and have to convince yourself that you weren't on a plane crash, that you don't, in fact, live on an island with beautiful people who apparently need no modern amenities for grooming, that black smoke isn't trying to kill you and that you never met anyone named Horace.
The scene where Locke found an eerily calm Claire in the cabin was, to me, the scariest and unsettling moment the show has had since Tom kidnapped Walt in the first season finale.
I continue to think Lost is having a positively brilliant season. That this week ended with all the Oceanic 6 in disparate places was a doozy of a cliffhanger. And the way the flash forwards are piecing together is extremely clever -- Kate and Jack were together before his "we have to go back" plea. The numbers were still after Hurley. No one was there to greet Kate when she landed in Hawaii. Sayid was immediately reunited with the love of his life. I hadn't even thought about the fact that Claire's mother wouldn't know her grandson.
But why did they have to lie about the circumstances of the plane crash? How worried are you that we have yet to see any flash-forward of someone who is not a member of the Oceanic 6? Desperate Housewives Season Finale
Wisteria Lane goes big before they go home for the season this Sunday at 9 p.m. on ABC. The rumor is still out there that the final minutes of the season finale will move the action of the show ahead five years. Series creator Marc Cherry has hinted that this means many of the cast members will not be back next season (I'm very worried this means we won't be seeing Mike Delfino next season).
But we probably haven't seen the last of Edie. I didn't really believe, out of all the things Edie has done, that this would be the last straw for Susan, Bree, Lynette and Gabby. Plus the reality is that Bree is preventing Austin from getting to know his son. I thought Lynette's reaction to Bree's confession was particularly unbelievable. She's the most grounded of all the ladies and I would think she would have a little bit of an issue with the fraud Bree is perpetrating. And I'm with all of you who think Bree is being a bit of a hypocrite since she helped cover up when Andrew ran down Carlos' mom.
And I'm not sure about the show's fascination with demon children. I'm not really enjoying the Kayla story line, are you? Thank goodness Julie has remained a nice (and yes somewhat boring) daughter.
But I'm still looking forward to learning the details of Katherine's big secret and seeing just how they pull off the fast forward. Now repeat after me: I will not judge the flash forward idea before I see it. I will not judge this idea before I see it. I will not judge this idea before I see it. Really that little mantra is more for me than you.

Moonlight
I've heard from so many Moonlight fans about the show's cancellation. And I'm with you, I was really shocked to see that the show was cancelled. Check out this post from my friend Korbi Ghosh. She has lots of information on fan's efforts to save the show.
Also this has been a very busy week in the land of TV, with surprise pick ups (I'm so happy for fans of The Unit) and cancellations (I really thought we'd be seeing more of Women's Murder Club, now we'll never know if Lindsay's father is okay). Lost has really come far since Season 3. The questions are many and nuanced, the action is tense, the thrills and surprises are neverending. I dread to think about who's not going to make it past these final 2 hours...
The unconventional story-telling and the expertise they have shown definitely garners an Emmy win for LOST this season. I'm a huge fan but I still think I would feel this way even if I wasn't. The risk of completely changing the way they are telling stories was a stroke of genius.
I am most curious about this 'promise' Kate made Sawyer that she's trying to fulfill in the future. (I haven't seen last night's ep yet, so if they've already told what it is, ignore me). I'm theorizing that it has something to do with the daughter he had with C***idy. Maybe he wants Kate to make sure she's okay, or tell her who he is, something like that.
I feel like you forgot the funniest quote of the week - maybe it was forgotten because it was so much earlier this week.

When Desperate Housewives does their flash forward, I wonder if we'll see that Benjamin Linus has moved onto Wisteria Lane.
I agree, Amy, Lost has been great this year. I think it has improved vastly since they determined and announced the end date. It helps the writers pace themselves, I think, and not waste time and useless stories (e.g., Nicki and Paolo, I think those were the names of the ones they buried alive).
Oh, and I would just like to add that I'm OK with the five-year jump for DH. I'm very curious to see who will still be there and any new faces they bring on board. I think it's a great opportunity!
Why do you ***ume Bree told Susan, Lynette & Gabby the truth about what she did? The viewer didn't hear the story she told them.
It does seem like since the writers have a finite period of time that they are able to pace the story better. And, hopefully, we'll get a finale that makes sense instead of a quick wrap up that doesn't stay true to the story (I'm looking at you Alias).
Still stressed about Bones, eh. I hope they left some sliver of hope to keep us going over the summer!
