Do the networks have a cure for the summertime blues?

By Amy Amatangelo

May 09, 12:30 PM

Cast_americangladiators_240 Well here it is May 9 and I’m already tired of NBC’s All American Summer Campaign. (The technical term being I'm all set with NBC). Something about the campaign is just irratating me.

The reality show cup runneth over at the peacock network. American Gladiators returns on Monday and coming soon there’s another season of Last Comic Standing, Nashville Star, and America’s Got Talent.

Joining those returning shows this summer will be Celebrity Circus, The Baby Borrowers and Celebrity Family Feud. How long until we run out of celebrities for these shenanigans?

All-new episodes of The Moment of Truth, Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader, Hell's Kitchen, and So You Think You Can Dance will air throughout the summer on FOX.

CBS has another season of Big Brother, the new game shows Million Dollar Password and Jingles and, believe it or not, the competition show Greatest American Dog. CBS also has two new dramas Swingtown and Flashpoint. I first heard about Swingtown in January 2007 so I’m not feeling great about the show being held until the summer of 2008. That doesn't exactly inspire confidence.

ABC has another season of The Bachelorette, The Mole, and new competition shows Wipeout, Dance Machine. Wanna Bet and I Survived a Japanese Game Show. ABC’s big item this summer is High School Musical – Summer Session.

CW has the new horror reality competition series 13 and it is not about the doctor on House.

But my question is this - what are you excited about on network TV this summer? Every year the networks scramble to find a way to keep viewers entertained during the summer but do you think these shows will do the trick? Do you kind of miss the old school style of repeats and catching up with shows you may have missed during the regular season? Talk about it below.

Quotes of the Week

Johnkrasinski_theoffice_240 "I am about to do something very bold at this job that I’ve never done before. Try." Jim on The Office.

"You know what I was thinking when you were standing up there? You should lose the mustache. Yup, you need to shave it." Billie to Earl on My Name is Earl.

"Cause no offense of anything but I’ve known you for 14 years and I only sort of like you. You can be pretty irritating." Sock to Sam on Reaper.

"I don’t miss you." Cameron to House on House.

"I’m a gay man Kevin. Tell me how to be a gay man at my age." Saul to Kevin on Brothers & Sisters.

Nicolettesheridan_desperatehousewiv "First of all I am not attracted to Orson. That would be like having sex with PBS." Edie to Bree on Desperate Housewives. Thanks to Michael and Michelle who were the first to submit this week's most popular quote.

"Cause we’re dead. All of us. All the Oceanic 6. We’re all dead. We never got off that island." Hurley to Jack on Lost.

"A zombie with skills, Dr. Quinn Medicine Zombie." Dean when Sam thinks they are chasing an organ stealing zombie on Supernatural. Thanks to Sandy for the quote.

"No more Simpsons movies. One was plenty." Marge on The Simpsons. Thanks to Barry for the quote.

"I never wanted to be famous for being mean, I wanted to be famous for catching Santa Claus." Homer on The Simpsons. Thanks to James for the quote.

That’s all for today. I’ll be back on Monday to talk about Britney Spears second appearance on How I Met Your Mother, American Idol themed edition of Bones, the season finale of The Office, CSI and much much more. Have a question. Seen a familiar face? Want to nominate a quote of the week or a topic for discussion? Write me at amytvgal@zap2it.com. Have a great weekend.

Well, since two of my favorite summer shows - The 4400 and The Dead Zone - won't be back this summer, I'm at a bit of a loss. If it wasn't for Doctor Who on SciFi, I'd be utterly lost during the summer.

MK | May 9, 2008 12:33:32 PM | #

I don't know if this is cause for worry among NBC executives but I've never heard of the All American Summer campaign...

Bea | May 9, 2008 12:41:40 PM | #

Man Men!
Weeds!
Californication!
Entourage!

Susan | May 9, 2008 12:44:23 PM | #

Of all the shows Amy listed, I am only interested in Big Brother. And I WAS interested in Swingtown until Amy's thoughts chimed in from above. How sad is my summer???

jessie | May 9, 2008 12:46:28 PM | #

I definitely miss reruns of fall shows. Hopefully the summer brings back "The Closer, Saving Grace, Monk, Psych and Damages". I never watch reality TV.
I still resent not having an ending to The 4400 and Dead Zone.

Becky | May 9, 2008 12:47:04 PM | #

So was that a heavily made-up John Krasinski at the end of the Office or no? I don't think it was JK but I wonder if it was a brother or cousin. The inflections and cadence in his speech was bang on.

Jamie | May 9, 2008 12:47:22 PM | #

Sorry Susan, I read that because of the strike Entourage is not returning until September. But I too am excited about the second season of Mad Men.

Sarah | May 9, 2008 12:48:30 PM | #

Speaking of summer, does anyone in Canada know if The Closer will ever make a reappearance? We've been waiting forever for Season Three.

Jamie | May 9, 2008 12:49:29 PM | #

Hello!
Burn Notice is returning in July. Enough said.

Dennita | May 9, 2008 12:55:49 PM | #

I can't wait for Burn Notice!

Krissy | May 9, 2008 12:56:33 PM | #

Excited about on network TV? Nothing. For TV on DVD, plenty. I almost think the networks are doing me a favor by programming so much garbage.

Chris O. | May 9, 2008 12:58:03 PM | #

Sorry Amy but the best summer shows aren't on the networks.

I'm looking forward to Psych & Burn Notice(USA), The Closer (TNT), Eureka (SciFi), My Boys (TBS) & Army Wives (Lifetime).

Nikki | May 9, 2008 12:58:24 PM | #

I'm also going to check out In Plain Sight...looks promising.

Nikki | May 9, 2008 12:59:12 PM | #

I plan on checking out "Swingtown". I know it's not a good sign because it's been pushed back so often, but it's got Grant Show from "Melrose Place", Lana Parilla from "Boomtown", Josh Hopkins from "Brothers & Sisters" and Molly Parker from "Deadwood", so with all that talent, can it really be that awful? I'm hoping the answer is no.

Michelle | May 9, 2008 1:08:32 PM | #

Nikki,

I'm with you on USA and Lifetime shows.

Will miss my MIT since it will stop after this 2nd season.
I've pretty much turned away from the network stations altogether at this point. Really tired of all the reality shows.

bjpub` | May 9, 2008 1:09:25 PM | #

I'll be watching cable this summer. I prefer quality scripted shows to reality shows.

kirrra | May 9, 2008 1:17:11 PM | #

Eureka and The Closer. When is Kyle XY coming back? Will it be this summer?

jeff | May 9, 2008 1:18:28 PM | #

I hate how the broadcast networks, expecting reduced viewership in the "off season", punish those who do tune in with crap programming. thank goodness for USA, FX and some other cable channels for not following suit.

bryan | May 9, 2008 1:19:38 PM | #

Psych, Burn Notice & looking forward to In Plain Sight (looks interesting)

scott | May 9, 2008 1:22:54 PM | #

I'll be boycotting the networks this summer in response to not making much of an effort to bring back shows that could've easily resumed production after the strike was settled.

I can understand not bringing back shows like "24" and "Heroes," but there were many, many others ("Chuck," "Pushing Daises," “Dirty Sexy Money,” etc.) that didn't necessarily rely on a set number of episodes or extensive mythology to tell a story that just shut down production for the season. Instead we got reality programming, game shows and talent contests. Inexcusable.

"Burn Notice" and "Eureka" will be about the only TV I'll be watching this summer (even though they are on cable channels owned by NBC).

If "Damages" has a summer run (I haven't heard or seen any news about its status), I'll check it out as well.

Rick | May 9, 2008 1:40:43 PM | #

Woo Hoo, the quote I submitted was the last one. Yay Amy!

James | May 9, 2008 1:44:44 PM | #

Burn Notice is a perfect example of a great summer TV show... just the right mix of humor, action and drama. Well written, good acting and a perfect summer location (Miami).

If you missed it, USA is repeating the entire first season Thursday nights at 11pm (with additional repeats).

IDR | May 9, 2008 1:47:48 PM | #

The only show I'll be watching this summer is "Monk".

Penny | May 9, 2008 1:57:21 PM | #

Hi Amy!
here are my feelings about Summertime TV...1) if you havent seen it, its new to you! there have been quite a few shows that i started watching in the summer and they made the schedule the following fall. 2)look for those episodes you missed. Yeah I know, how dare me but you get my point :). and 3) Cable reruns baby! why not some MASH on TVland or something on ION? bye!

Ken | May 9, 2008 2:45:27 PM | #

I do miss no reruns of the past season during the summer, but there are a couple of shows I'm looking forward to this summer. Big Brother is number one. BB = summer, not winter. Also, I'm Very excited about the Mole coming back. It's been gone too long.

Aaron | May 9, 2008 2:56:01 PM | #

I used to watch the network broadcasts during the summer - repeats of their regular shows were fine with me. I can't abide the plethora of "reality" shows that are forced on us. I put "reality" in quotes because there isn't anything "real" about them.

The sad thing is that those abysmal shows get high enough ratings that it encourages the networks to put more and more of them on. Even though it was a joke on "30 Rock" I wouldn't be surprised to see a version of MILF Island show up sometime...

As for me - thank goodness for USA & SciFi. They at least will have some shows that I look forward to watching. Monk, Psych, Burn Notice, Eureka, possibly In Plain Sight - I know I'll be watching those. I do hate that the 4400 and Dead Zone have been cancelled, but at least the others are still on.

Melody | May 9, 2008 3:00:08 PM | #

Since I've already heard that Big Love and Entourage will not be on this summer, I don't know what I'll watch. Does anybody know if Army Wives and My Boys will be on this summer? How about Rescue Me and Damages? Please? Please?

K | May 9, 2008 3:08:28 PM | #

The Mole was here....

Mole | May 9, 2008 3:33:40 PM | #

Dr. Quinn, Medicine Zombie!
For those who may not get the connection: Jensen Ackles / Dean Winchester, played Jason Teague, son of Genevieve Teague , who was played by Jane Seymour, who played Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman, a few seasons ago on Smallville.
Teagues rule!

Cass Teague | May 9, 2008 3:50:25 PM | #

SO GLAD THE MOLE IS COMING BACK!

Hopefully it will continue to deserve the title of "smartest reality show ever."

Matt | May 9, 2008 4:03:48 PM | #

I definitely miss summer reruns. Summer reality crap, I could definitely do without.

Jen | May 9, 2008 4:48:38 PM | #

Summer is good for two things:

1. Burn Notice
2. Watching old shows in syndication (Seinfeld, Married with Children, Whose Line, The Jeffersons, Angel, Buffy, etc).

CA | May 9, 2008 5:14:06 PM | #

All American Summer Campaign? It's all crap. Do people really watch reality shows. You could be having sex. or sleeping.

sl | May 9, 2008 7:29:12 PM | #

So you think you can dance is a great show, like American Idol but more talent. I'm also with the why did they cancel 4400 crowd. My family's second favorite show after LOST (best show ever!!!!!!!)

monica | May 9, 2008 8:50:47 PM | #

I absolutely adore Eureka! It's my favorite summer show, because it has awesome characters, it's actually intelligent, and it's hilarious! Everyone so needs to watch it!

Actually there are quite a few shows I watch during the summer though (it was so hectic last year, and this year will probably get worse!). I'm definitely excited about Burn Notice returning, and Psych is always enjoyable. I'll probably check out In Plain Sight too. My Boys is another awesome summer show, and you can't NOT watch The Closer. I don't get Showtime, but I have loved Weeds on DVD and will probably pick up Season 3 when it comes out this summer too.

One that I'm dreading a little bit - but I know I'll end up watching anyway - is Damages. I know you love it, Amy, but I found it rather boring and over-the-top. Yes, it had constant twists and turns, but I never really found them interesting because you could predict that there was always going to be a twist and nothing was ever a given, so it just started to feel tacky to have yet another twist after a while. It was suspenseful in that I was constantly in fear for just about every character's life, but I wasn't attached enough to any of them for it to actually matter if they died. I was intrigued by the set-up for Patty to possibly be taken down next season though (I didn't love-to-hate her - I never found her sympathetic at all - I just hated her), so I'll probably end up hating her anyway.

This is getting really long, but I think Flashpoint looks decent. Also, I used to really enjoy The Mole, so maybe it will be okay too. If not, I can continue ignoring all reality TV. Should be a busy summer!

Sarah | May 9, 2008 9:19:47 PM | #

Ooops! I meant to say at the end about Damages that I'll probably end up WATCHING it anyway - not "hating her"! Sorry about that.

Sarah | May 9, 2008 9:22:44 PM | #

The only thing on network tv I watch in the summer is Big Brother, otherwise it is Army Wives(Lifetime), Closer & Saving Grace(TNT), Burn Notice, Law & order CI, the new In Plain Sight(USA). I am still mad at USA for cancelling 4400 and Dead Zone with any conculsion.

TVJunkie | May 9, 2008 10:14:34 PM | #

Burn Notice - I've been catching up on my Bruce Campbell fix by watching the DVD of Brisco County Jr which I got from ebay for 25 bucks - don't you just love ebay?!
And thanks to the writers' strike - yes there is something positive - all the main tv peeps have fixed their hitherto crappy online screenings and are showing old episodes of A-Team, Buck Rogers in the 25th Century, McGyver, Perry Mason and Star Trek so there's plenty to watch.
Also Psych, the Closer, Monk and basically having time to laze out in the sunshine - that's what Summer's for after all!!

Sirius | May 9, 2008 10:15:53 PM | #

I gotta say I dont miss the old school way of ALL repeats. However on the flip side, I do watch some repeats of shows I never got into. So it has its purpose. But if the new way of tv is and it sounds like, "Summertime reality" then I need a new hobby. Im so sick of these shows and cant believe people enjoy some of them.
Burn Notice, Eureka, Ill try any new drama such as in plain site, hopefully rescue me is back... Thats pretty much it

Liam | May 9, 2008 10:57:43 PM | #

This summer, I will only get basic, and I'm not a big reality fan. Does anyone ever watch Last Comic Standing? Are the comedians ever very good?

Billiam | May 9, 2008 11:08:59 PM | #

my fave quote this week was from the beginning of bones when the lawyer lady says 'i did not know she could laugh' about bones.

Eureka, hands down.

Susan H | May 10, 2008 8:47:06 AM | #

Here's my summer..1.watch all tivod shows till tivo empty again. 2. wait for "Closer,Burn Notice & Saving Grace" to start.
HATE HATE HATE ALL REALITY SHOWS, except Survivor, & REal World. HATE all game shows, except Wheel of Fortune.
3. Finally, wait for fall shows to start..

lizouttavegas | May 10, 2008 8:49:00 AM | #

Burn Notice, The Closer, Eureka, Dr. Who, probably Monk, hopefully In Plain Sight.... And that's enough. I've got to catch up on my TV-on-DVDs!

Glenn | May 10, 2008 8:49:47 AM | #

Biliam...Last Comic has GREAT
COMMEDIANS!!!!!!! The host is
important too..dont know who it is this season..but still worth watching.

lizouttavegas | May 10, 2008 8:51:07 AM | #

Like some of you, I first use the summer to catch up on shows I have missed (either by watching all my saved TIVO shows or by watching them on DVD or online).
- For June, I have Brothers and Sisters, Weeds Season 3, Burn Notice and Mad Men Seasons 1 to catch up on.

I avoid reality shows in the summer if I can help it. (Use to watch Big Brother as a guilty pleasure...but it sucks too much time.)

Since my HBO summer staples will not air until either the fall or later due to the strike(Big Love, Entourage) I will be watching other cable series...
The Closer, Eureka, Weeds, Californication, Mad Men, and Burn Notice.

I am not sure if I will watch any of the new Network series...will have to wait for word of mouth to see it they are of any quality.

Rachel | May 10, 2008 10:52:20 AM | #

I am incredibly proud to say that I've never seen a single moment of a single "reality" show -- and I treasure every brain cell I've retained as a result.

Glenn | May 10, 2008 11:01:17 AM | #

Ugh...Summer programming. First, the pain of the strike, and now the return of summer reality shows. It's like they're not even trying anymore.

Cat | May 10, 2008 12:05:33 PM | #

I haven't yet seen a reality TV show that interests me, so I'm looking forward to lots of outdoors time this summer, and DVDs for the evening hours. Oh, and I'll watch Mad Men on DVD when it comes out in July...hopefully S2 will air after that? (Bad planning on their part otherwise.) And I'll take a look at S2 of Damages, although they killed off my two favorite characters so I'm not sure I'm sticking with it.

So You Think You Can Dance
Side Order of Life
Burn Notice
The Starter Wife
Project Runway (if back on during summer)
Survivor (if back on during summer)
Damages
Psych
The Amazing Race (if back on during summer)
Big Brother

I'm not excited about anything on network tv but I plan on watching The Mole, Fear Itself, Swingtown, Flashpoint and repeats.

Cable is the way to go in the summer. Shows on cable I plan on watching:
The Middleman

The Secret Life of the American Teenager

Eureka

Monsterquest

Burn Notice

Man vs. Wild

Monk

Psych

Primeval

Law & Order: Criminal Intent

In Plain Sight

My Boys

The Bill Engvall Show

30 Days

The Closer

Saving Grace

and I'm sure some other shows...

Ray | May 10, 2008 5:15:45 PM | #

Burn Notice!! Bruce Campbell! Woot! Monk and Psych....sigh, no Dead Zone. And NBC might as well change their slogan to All Reality, All the time, cause they are cheaping out big time. They suck.

serene | May 10, 2008 7:59:38 PM | #

Burn Notice!
Burn Notice!
Burn Notice!
Eureka
Stargate Atlantis
Burn Notice!!

With Tricia Helfer joining the cast this season, it's really looking exciting. Can't wait 'til July.

kd | May 10, 2008 11:37:17 PM | #

The Mole is back and thank God its not that Celebrity Mole crap that ruined the show. The Mole has to be like the greatest reality/comp show ever. Big Brother is back where it should be hopefully they have a better cast than all the unlikable losers that populated season 9

Mike | May 11, 2008 6:17:54 AM | #

Burn Notice is the only summer show I'm looking forward to...otherwise, I'll be watching dvds of torchwood, dr. who and the 4400

Jen | May 11, 2008 8:57:33 AM | #

If you dig through the network sludge that is summer programming you can always find a few awesome gems. I will spend my summer with:
The Closer
Weeds
The Mole (greatest reality comp show ever!!)
So You Think You Can Dance
Burn Notice
Swingtown (I'll check it out)
30 Days
Flashpoint
Breaking Bad
13 (Horror reality on CW)
Fear Itself (NBC probably lame but I'll check out the first couple to see)

Sean | May 11, 2008 12:23:07 PM | #

There is some tv I look forward to in the summertime, but none of it is on the big four networks. I love Burn Notice on USA - Psych and Monk are fun as well. I'm looking forward to trying In Plain Sight. Eureka on Sci Fi is very entertaining. My Boys on TBS is Hi-larious. Weeds - I hate the premise but I can't stop watching. (same with Breaking Bad on AMC) Californication provides my David Duchovny fix.

katie71483 | May 11, 2008 12:53:47 PM | #

If It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia comes back this summer, it'll be something thing to look forward to. If not, there's always TV on DVD for Dead Like Me, Wonderfalls and Curb Your Enthusiasm.

b | May 11, 2008 1:17:30 PM | #

Ugh. Looking at TV Gal's list, it's some of the worst crap I've ever seen. Great American Dog? The Baby Borrowers? No thanks, I'll still with my DVDs and books until real television comes back in the fall (if it comes back, assuming the actors don't walk out on strike).

Alex | May 11, 2008 4:25:46 PM | #

As (almost) everyone has pointed out, the best summer television is on cable. I will be watching: Psych, Monk, Burn Notice, Mad Men, Damages, The Closer, Saving Grace, My Boys, Weeds, Californication, Army Wives, (and maybe) In Plain Sight.

I will give Swingtown at least one episode because I like Molly Parker but I'm not expecting much from it.

Last summer had a lot of shows that were much better than many of the network shows that aired during the 07-08 regular season. Once again I am looking forward to cable's summer programming.

Amy Lynne | May 11, 2008 4:26:36 PM | #

Just let me know when Monk, Psych, and Burn Notice come on. Until then, I'll be playing GTA4 and watching my DVR episodes of 30 Rock.

Can't stand reality, Summer is all about Cable. I can't wait for Closer, Saving Grace, Burn Notice, and Monk; I will probably try anything that is new and not reality. I am also looking forward to season three of Weeds on DVD and probably watch another Season of NCIS, I got started on those during the strike.

Hettie | May 11, 2008 11:10:56 PM | #

Burn Notice
Eureka
Psych
Stargate Atlantis
The Closer

Catching up on DVDs of whole shows. I caught up on Stargate, Supernatural, Veronica Mars. I plan on catching up on shows that I never finished (Lost, Heroes) or shows that have been renewed that I never started (Eli Stone).

You should make a comprehensive list of everyones' answers and post what people are watching.

| May 12, 2008 3:30:46 AM | #

I checked re season 3 of "The Closer" in Canada and found this quote - "Super Channel currently has the exclusive Canadian broadcast rights, meaning you can only see it there". So, no Super Channel, no "The Closer". I'm waiting for the DVD at the end of the summer.

This summer, I'll be on the deck with a stack of books. I'd rather read a bad book that watch "reality" TV anyway.

Anne | May 12, 2008 5:05:57 AM | #

"Reality" tv - yuck!

I wish networks would run repeats of dramas so I could get a chance to watch what I otherwise didn't have time for during the regular tv season. Alas, I suppose that would hurt tv on dvd sales and the hype of "original" television programming (aka - horrible reality crap).

MichelleC | May 12, 2008 5:55:24 AM | #

I'll add my kudos to USA (Monk, Psyche, Burn Notice and possibly In Plain Sight) and TBS (My Boys). I'm also looking forward to the return of The Mole (and I do concur), the SMARTEST reality show ever (even thought smartest reality show is an oximoron.

Allen | May 12, 2008 8:05:35 AM | #

Burn Notice and The Closer.

Roy | May 12, 2008 8:22:24 AM | #

I love 'So you think you can dance' and will definatley be watching that this summer. I will probably be sucked into Big Brother again... Damn!

Mandy | May 12, 2008 8:23:10 AM | #

don't forget the SCIFI stuff:
Dr.Who
Sarah Jane Adventures
Battlestar Galactica

BBC America has
Robin Hood which I'm not certain if I like or not yet.

Swingtown at least has Enrico Calantoni from Veronica Mars and Just Shoot Me

Men In Trees is supposed to be back as well in late May for a few weeks.

Kyle | May 12, 2008 8:24:44 AM | #

Summer tv? Reality tv? No thanks. I'd rather be outside.

lostalias | May 12, 2008 11:17:53 AM | #

I reduce tv watching in the summer...live in the northeast have to take advantage of the good weather. However, without So You Think You Can Dance and My Boys, i would suffer serious tv withdrawal.

Olivia | May 12, 2008 11:25:02 AM | #

sadly, I've watched (and I can't believe I'm admitting this) enjoyed American Gladiators, Last Comic, and Nashville star. so I will be checking all these out. the previews for wipeout looks hilarious and I love old school Password so I might check in on the new one.

Mandy | May 12, 2008 11:39:07 AM | #

oops:

Enrico is on some failed Pilot from last year on Friday Nights on CBS called "Flashpoint." Sounds like sorta derivative of NCIS..maybe they'll add some humor and it'll be worth seeing, altho at 9PM (Central) on Fridays I have Galactica, PSYCH already, altho at least they have do encores on Scefee and USA.

so..it appears ALIENS IN AMERICA is toast = FAIL!!!..and REAPER might also be. The CW can die, like nao!

Kyle | May 12, 2008 11:40:32 AM | #

Hmm, with that lineup , I guess will be reading a lot this summmer.

Alli | May 12, 2008 11:41:53 AM | #

Since I got a promotion at work and have been planning to buy a new Hi-Def TV with my tax rebate, I imagine this will be the summer I finally get cable (or cable equivalent) again after several years. Since so much of what I watch is on the broadcast nets, I've done without it, and not missed it much, except in the summers.

Tego Livi | May 12, 2008 11:56:12 AM | #

I'm really excited about the return of My Boys. I'm also kind of excited for the Celebrity Family Feud.

However, I must say that I do miss the reruns. It's sad that shows like Eli Stone, Moonlight, Pushing Daisies, Chuck, and others probably won't have the season reaired which would give new viewers a chance to tune in instead of waiting to be caught up when the DVD comes out. And usually that doesn't happen until the next season has already started.

I remember when the WB reran Seasons 1 & 2 of Buffy on Monday and Tuesday nights. That was how I caught up to get ready for the 3rd season. I hadn't seen any of it until the 2nd season finale, then was able to watch it all summer.

Denise | May 12, 2008 1:06:03 PM | #

NOTHING on the networks this summer excites me ... but Burn Notice and The Closer will help get me through the summer. I'll be missing The 4400, though.

| May 12, 2008 4:11:25 PM | #

I've got plenty to occupy me:

Burn Notice returns soon, and not a moment too soon!

Psych never fails to disappoint.

I'll watch Stargate Atlantis to see just how badly they screw up the cast(ing) this season.

I'm biting my nails watching Doctor Who's fourth series on Sci-Fi, because both DW and Torchwood won't be back for a full year.

Primeval starts on BBCAmerica.

And then there's my addition to HGTVs Color Splash...

Doctor Who accually will have a few specials in 2009, but not a run of 13 episodes which is good if you want to keep the cravings up.

For my reality TV likings, Outrageous Moments and AG will do it for me.

Swingtown looks horrible. I'm seriously appalled. Some moron wants us to relive those fantastic 70's days? Get a grip.

Whoever approved this over at CBS - you are completely out of touch with viewers and I dub you a moron.

Les & Sumner need to take a closer look at who's making these stupid decisions.

If I didn't know any better, I'd say the mole is being filmed within the CBS programming offices. That would surely explain all of the great shows that have been sabotaged recently.
