Robthomas_veronicamars_240 You know there are times when I feel like TV and I have a completely symbiotic relationship. We speak each other's unspoken words. I exist for TV and TV exists for me. We can tell what the other one is thinking and are completely and totally in sync.

That's exactly how I felt on Wednesday, when the news broke that CW has a 90210 spin-off in the works and that Rob Thomas, the executive producer of Veronica Mars, was behind it.  Insert dance of joy here.

I know that some of you can't take it any more with my long standing devotion to 90210 and are thinking to yourself, "She already talked about 90210 so much and it wasn't even on the air, what will become of Amy now? What hath the CW wrought?" But those of you who still feel the love for all things West Beverly, ohmygodaren'tyousoexicted??

My mind has been on overdrive thinking about all the possibilities. How many of the original cast could return? I'm thinking there's got to be a role for Ian Ziering. Steve Sanders as high school principal? Who's with me?

What would you like to see in a 90210 spin-off? Do you think a spin-off is a good idea? Talk about it below.

Quotes of the Week

"So about what I said earlier, I'm emotional. My dad's sick and Ray's marrying Hannah. Eddie's beat up and in the hospital. There's no more Harry Potter books. There's just a lot going on." Ronnie after he confesses his love to Aubrey on October Road.

"I'll build you the old set and you can play host in your back yard." Ryan to Simon during another one of their endless bickering matches on American Idol. Boys, no one really believes you're fighting. It's annoying and it needs to stop.

"In all the time they've been here, they've talked about a lot of things and none involve rescuing us." Kate about Daniel and Charlotte on Lost.

Exchange of the Week

Julialouisdreyfus3_newadventuresofo "Are you really a lawyer?" Christine to her much younger blind date on The New Adventures of Old Christine.

"Well I haven't passed the bar."  His reply.

"Can you go into a bar?" Christine's retort. Thanks to Jeff for the exchange.

That's all for today. I'm back next week to talk about the return of the CBS Monday night comedies (it's going to be legen-wait for it-dary), the 100th episode of One Tree Hill (cue the angst), a review of the new ABC comedy Miss Guided, thoughts on The Celebrity Apprentice, to process Lost (I'm utterly devastated over Jin) and much much more. Have a question? Seen a familiar face? Want to nominate a quote of the week or a topic for discussion? Write me at amytvgal@zap2it.com. Talk to you on Monday.

Amy, I'm so with you - I was very excited to hear about Rob Thomas and a 90210 spin-off!

(But I'm disappointed that your inserted "dance of joy" was not the snoopy dance.... You could have gotten a Buffy reference in there, 90210, VM, and Buffy references all in the same column, sounds like your and my idea of heaven!)

Well we know since Lindsay Price is on Lipstick Jungle, Janet and Steve won't be on it. I would like to see Kelly and Dylan. They were my favorite couple.

When we last visited that zip code there were a number of little girls just ready to grow up and hit high school: Andrea's daughter Hannah, Steve & Janet's daughter Madeline, David and Kelly's half-sister Erin. Just add a few hunky yet troubled boys and stir!

I'll only watch because its Rob Thomas... other than that.. thppppt.

Thanks for the Lost spoiler..might've been nice to be a litte more generic in your comments.

I think I would like to avoid cheesy casting and cameos for the spin-off, like Steve as the high school principal. Although it hasn't really been long enough for the characters children and younger siblings to be in high school as Bea mentioned, I do like that approach. I mean, daytime soaps never respect timelines, so it sounds good to me! Kristin Bell as Erin, anyone with me?

If it's going to be a 90210 spin off, it would only make sense to have at least one of the main characters back again. I mean, I certainly hope it would be more then Jim and Carol taking care of Brenda's kid because Brenda had to go find herself or something lame like that. As for Steve and Janet, who knows if Lipstick Jungle will continue and even if it does, S&J could be divorced by now. And the poster who said they don't follow timelines is correct -- everybody could be a lot older by now. If done correctly, it could be very interesting.

I agree with you, Ray. I haven't watched Lost yet so that comment caught me completely off guard.

Don't read the posts until you've seen the episode! She's supposed to talk about what happened!

Well we can count Brandon out for the spin off. If you can't even really show up for the finale, no spin off for you.
