If loving a bad boy is wrong, I don't want to be right

Bad boys, bad boys, whatcha gonna do?

The bad boy has become a nearly iconic figure on the TV landscape. In real life, it might not be a good idea to date a bad boy. But on TV, we just can't seem to get enough of them. They are often an important part of a love triangle. Underneath the rough exterior and sexy hair style, they are good guys (kind of) who want to do the right thing (most of the time). They give the viewer someone to root for (Kate should be with Sawyer) or against (Kate should definitely be with Jack).

But a good bad boy is hard to find. The actor has to be able to convey a believable vulnerability. And the writing has to take a bad boy to dark places without ever taking him past the point of redemption.

Andrew McCarthy never quite came together as Joe Bennett on Lipstick Jungle. As many of you have pointed out, he was no Mr. Big (a bad boy if there ever was one).

They might have very well made Chuck irredeemable on Gossip Girl. And Grey's Anatomy really hasn't given McSteamy a story line he can get behind.

Who are some of your favorite TV bad boys? Or do you have a favorite bad girl? Talk about it below.

Oceanic Six

Naveenandrews_lost_s4_240Thanks to the promos now we know the Oceanic Six -- Kate, Jack, Hurley, Sayid, Sun and, drum roll please, Aaron. So how do we feel about that? Do we think that's fair (if fair is even the right word) since Aaron was born on the island?

Discuss amongst yourselves.

Quotes of the Week

Neilpatrickharris_howimetyourmother "She's 516. She might dress like she's 718 and act like she's 212, but trust me, she's 516. And her husband, letting her out alone on St. Patty's Day, if that dude's not 973, I'm 307. Wyoming." Barney breaking down the area codes for Ted on How I Met Your Mother. Thanks to Janin for getting the whole hilarious quote.

"How could she not notice this? It's like the last 20 minutes of 'Titanic' in here." Robin to Marshall about his crooked apartment on How I Met Your Mother. The show is back so it deserves two quotes this week.

"This garage is a monument of my half-assedness." Christine on The New Adventures of Old Christine. Thanks to Michelle for the quote.

"I'm here to die." Michael explaining why he's on the boat on Lost.

"We got married without you but we still want your fancy gifts party." Jerome about Sam and Jane's wedding party on Men in Trees.

Exchange of the Week

"I don't want my clothes to say 'come hither.'" Alan to Charlie on Two and a Half Men.

"As always they say, 'your regular teacher is sick.'" Charlie's response.

That's all for today. I'll be back on Monday to discuss the return of Greek (Am I too old to date a Kappa Tau?), the season finale of Jericho, Britney on How I Met Your Mother (oh my God, y'all), the season finale of The Celebrity Apprentice, the return of CSI: Miami (get out your sunglasses) and much much more. Have a question? Seen a familiar face? Want to nominate a quote of the week or a topic for discussion? Write me at amytvgal@zap2it.com. Have a wonderful weekend and, for those who celebrate, a very Happy Easter. Talk to you on Monday.

Sawyer on "Lost" is most definately my favorite bad boy! I can't help but smile everytime he comes on screen. :) He's delicious. I also like Dr. Christian Troy on "Nip/Tuck" and Linc on "Prison Break". (I know Linc's not bad bad, but he was in prison after all) I'm sure there are many more, but those are my top three that I can think of right now. :)

Ack -- how could I forget Dr. Doug Ross from ER?

Favorite bad boys ever: Logan Echolls on Veronica Mars, Angelus on Buffy/Angel, Sark on Alias, Cole on Charmed, and Alec on Dark Angel. (Although, I'll admit that Sark and Cole may be past redemption and, unfortunately, they never explored a Sydney/Sark pairing).

Favorite bad girls: Valerie AND Gina on 90210

Tim Riggins on Friday Night Lights! How could you forget him?

I have loved many a-bad boy in my many, many days of watching television but there is absolutely NO ONE who has thoroughly captured my heart like Logan Echolls. No one.

Kirrrra~

Ahem, Riggins was the first name on the list...

Hello?? Alex Karev, anyone ?

#1 bad boy of all time is definitely Logan Echolls. But since Veronica Mars is no more, Tim Riggins - please NBC/give us an "official" announcement regarding FNL.

While I agree that Riggins has a total hotty factor that makes my toes curl, I have to say there is no one like Logan. He could be such a bad boy, but he would always come through when he was needed.
