Joe on Brothers & Sisters is totally bumming me out.
I used to love his character and the honest look at marriage his relationship with Sarah offered. Then he went and kissed Rebecca which was totally icky but I was still okay. But this season, he's turned into kind of a jerk. He's back with his ex-wife and this Sunday (10 p.m. on WCVB, Ch. 5), he is suing Sarah for full custody of their children. What happened to sweet, sensitive Joe? Guitar playing Joe who emotionally supported his workaholic wife? I can understand that having Sarah single again opens up many story line possibilities but did they have to ruin Joe in the process?
You know who else is bumming me out? Addison on Private Practice. Because, let's be honest, she's not even the same character now that she's moved to California. And Hiro is far too great a character to abandon in some hokey story line on Heroes. Hiro's charm stems from his sincere, sweet-natured innocence. It's what made his story line with the waitress one of my favorites last season. Bring back that Hiro. Please.
I remain very concerned about Landry on Friday Night Lights. Once you've killed a man, I think your days of comic relief on a series definitely comes to a close. I can't seem to get past the fact that the Landry we knew last season would have called his father and done the right thing.

Damages Finale
First if you haven't yet watched the season finale of Damages, skip this section until you have.
Okay everybody still with me? Now more than ever I want this show picked up for another season. Because we were so tricked by the show, weren't we? What amazed me is that so much was seemingly wrapped up in the penultimate episode only to be unraveled again. The man who killed David and worked for Frobisher is a detective. And boy did they hoodwink me with the kindly lawyer. It would have been so easy to make him evil but instead he's working undercover with the FBI. Even with all my fearless predictions, I never saw that plot twist coming.
But my favorite jaw-dropping moment was the revelation that Patty really did try to have Ellen killed. The show ricocheted constantly around this possibility from having Patty disappear to the blood on her shoe that turned out to have nothing to do with Ellen's attack or David's death. TV Gal reader Brad thinks that when Ellen said, "Do you regret what we did?" that realized Patty realized she couldn't trust anyone and made the resolution to have Ellen killed. I so agree and I so want this show back next summer. Think of what we still need to know about. Why did Patty's son return to the apartment that night? Did Frobisher die? Will Larry get away with shooting him? Can Ellen bring Patty down?

Ok, so we all know by now that having two main characters get married basically spells the end of a show. While this may not be true about Desperate Housewives, has anyone actually seen Mike this year. How many episodes are we into the season now and how many scenes has Mike been in? 3 tops?
Okay, in terms of Private Practice and Addison, I'm right there with you. When she first came on Grey's, I was all ready to hate her... but I couldn't. I grew to love her. When I heard she'd be getting her own show with some of my TV favorites, I was all for it... but this Addison is not the Addison that left Seattle. Yes, I understand that they had to change her character a bit so she could carry a show that has a different tone than Grey's, but I miss her strength. Sometimes I wonder if I'm put off because Private Practice doesn't have the same tone that Grey's does. But then I think I might have been upset if it did have exactly the same tone and say, "What? Like they couldn't come up with a new idea, so they gave us another hour of the same show with all new doctors?" (I go back and forth with those two thoughts.) In the end, I'm still all in with this show. It's growing on me, and I'll stick with it... but I wouldn't mind having some of my old Addison back.
I was stunned and saddened to learn that Patty was responsible for Ellen's attempted murder. Any sympathy that I had for Patty is now gone. How could she be so traumatized by the suicide death of Ray Fiske, and then turn around and attempt another killing? Now I do wish for a second season and I want to see Ellen take her down!
I thought the finale made it clear that Patty's breakdown WASN'T over Ray's suicide, but over having to order a hit on Ellen.
I think Patty was deeply conflicted about that decision, which doesn't exactly make her a good guy, but at least gives her some dimension.
And I think there might be more behind the hit on Ellen than simple mistrust. The decision really seemed to cause Patty pain. I doubt she would have done unless she had -- to her, at least -- a really good reason.
My guess is that she planned to pin Ellen's death on Frobisher, much like she did with Katie's dog.
I agree about how everything seemed wrapped up in the penultimate episode. I wasn't even all that excited for the finale because I thought I had it all figured out. I was happy to be wrong. I hope Arthur's not dead, he's a great character and I'm hoping against hope the show returns.
Damages has damaged me and I must have another season to treat my affliction. Excellent wrap up. I can't remember the last time a show created a satisfying ending and cliff-hanger all at the same time. Who do I write to for it to get another chance for next year?
Was I the only one who saw the custody battle on Brothers and Sisters coming? Sara works too hard or so Joe will say. It drives me nutty when I can predict story lines. Liven things up for once and just let them divorce in peace. Grrrr Yeah I don't think there is a way to get our loveable Landry back.

Damages was one excellent show. The only other time I was so satisfied with a finale was Lost. Anyway, I really want a 2nd season as well just to see Ellen take Patty down. One poster was right, how can Patty plot to kill Ellen after Ray had killed himself in front of her? Hmmm, maybe, Ellen is gonna get Frobisher to help her bring Patty down. PS
haha, off topic, but the moment I read the title, I figured this was going to be about the '24' trailer. *sigh* I'm far too obsessed with the show, I suppose :)
