Oh Patty, Patty, Patty -- Thoughts on "Damages" and Quotes of the Week
Before I begin discussing Damages, I would like to take a moment to talk to all the people who haven't been watching the show.
Would you be a love and watch/record the Damages marathon this Saturday beginning at 8 a.m. on FX. Thanks ever so. The first season finale will be next Tuesday at 10 p.m. on FX. The show hasn't yet been picked up for a second season and it so needs to be so I'm beginning my one woman campaign for the show.
Okay, now I would like to talk to everyone who has been watching the show. I knew it. I just knew the kindly older lawyer who befriended Ellen was up to no good. The show has excelled due to the complicated, intricate and multiple mysteries, the downright brilliant way it manipulates time, the right about of believable red herrings (blood on Patty's shoe, the woman obsessed with David) and perfect performances.
I simply have loved every minute of this show. How about you? I know you all had mixed feelings about Damages when it debuted. Did you stick with the show? And if so, what do you think about it now. Post your comments below and encourage others to get on the Damages bandwagon.
Quotes of the Week
"Do you think dying has made me morbid?" Chuck on Pushing Daisies. Thanks to Eliza for the quote.
"Musing on the idea of setting someone on fire doesn't mean you really want to set them on fire. It's just the thought of it that makes you happy." Olive to Emerson on Pushing Daisies. Thanks to Steve for the quote. Pushing Daisies received the most quote nominations this week.
"I'm Batman" Dean after taking out two bad guys with a pen and TV remote control on Supernatural. Thanks to Sandy for the quote.
"I staked him." Mick to Beth on Moonlight after he got the bad vampire. Thanks to Connie and Angie who were the first to nominate this week's most popular quote.
"I want your eyes on the revolving wieners." Sarah's boss to Sarah on Chuck. Thanks to Barry for the quote.
"It's genius! He's a sponge but he talks!" Lynette while watching TV after having brownies laced with marijuana on Desperate Housewives. Thanks to Edgar for the quote.
"You listen to me lady, the Wilhelmina Slater I know and occasionally wish I was does not throw in the towel just because the old man she's scamming has suddenly gone all soft for his tramnesiac daughter." Mark to Wilhemina who's ready to give up on Bradford on Ugly Betty. Thanks to Jeff for the quote.
"He's mean. Like Simon Cowell with a Pulitzer, and I can't be Jordin Sparks good. I have to be Kelly Clarkson Miss Independent good." Betty about her creative writing professor on Ugly Betty.
That's all for today. I'm back on Monday to discuss Sara's departure on CSI and Sara's departure on Prison Break and take a look at other notable TV departures. Have one you want me to discuss? Write me at amytvgal@zap2it.com. I'll also check in on How I Met Your Mother and House. Have a question? Seen a familiar face? Want to nominate a quote of the week. Write me at amytvgal@zap2it.com. And Go Red Sox.

I've been recording Damages all season and have only watched the first 2 - you ruined it! Although I figured pretty early that this type of show would not be afraid to make the one good guy bad so no big surprise. You've convinced me to watch the rest of the episodes.
Damages is absolutely the best show on TV. I can't get enough of that show. It's so great having an intelligent and entertaining show considering most of the junk on tv. I really hope it gets picked up for another season.
Amanda: Oh No no no, Girlfriend.. Bathroom Now. Friends don't let Friends wear Glitter before Noon.
- Ugly Betty
God I almost don't care about the show any more because Marc and Amanda are so damn funny. Not that I don't totally LOVE ugly betty.. its just that they are FUNNY.
The Office-
Jim: In fact, I'm in love with "Italian food" (sigh!)
Darryl to Kelly: You need to access your uncrazy side.
FX is so the new HBO. Damages is one stellar show. Glenn Close has practically sewn up every acting award for Best Actress Drama this year. Rose Byrne and Ted Danson will probably win a couple too.
I hope Ellen doesn't go to jail.
Damages and Dexter are the 2 best dramas on the air right now in my opinion and Damages is probably one of the best in several years. Every week when it ends I yell at my tivo NOOOOO! I can't possibly wait til next week. Kinda like 24 a few seasons back. If you haven't watched it yet, its best to watch several episodes in a row. Trust me, you'll want to.
I absolutely love Damages! I've been hooked since the first episode, and while I can't wait for the season finale to find out what happened, I'm sad that it's over for the year. I really need this show to come back next year. I haven't been this absolutely riveted by a TV program in I don't know how long. All season I've been afraid that Patty had something to do with it, and just when I would believe she was innocent, something else would happen (blood on the shoe), and I would think she was guilty all over again. Damages is an A+ rollercoaster ride of exceptional writing and phenomenal acting.
And as a side note, I'm extremely happy (in a TV geek sorta way) to have the quote I sent in used in Amy's blog. (I'm the Steve above that sent in the Pushing Daisies quote.)
Love Damages. This is what a show with a continuing story line (serial) should be like. I thought I had read somewhere that it was renewed.
"We may have gotten off on the wrong foot when I called you an idiot. I was wrong ... to point it out." Sheldon to his boss on Big Bang Theory. This quote was his apology.
I was sick with Vertigo. I'm torn to pieces that I missed the "It Happened Last Night" blog on "Damages." I had a lot to say.
