October 2007
It's beginning to look a lot like November sweeps. If it seems like your favorite television shows are really trying to grab your attention this month, you're not imagining it.
Brett Cullen was Alan, Violet's ex-boyfriend on Private Practice. He was Goodwin on Lost, Tim's father Walt Riggins on Friday Night Lights, and Governor Ray Sullivan on The West Wing. But all this week's bonus points must go to TV Gal reader Heather who correctly remembered that D.W. Moffett played Alan in the spin-off Grey's Anatomy episode last May. Now Moffett is playing Danny on Life is Wild, the same role Brett Cullen played in the original pilot for Life is Wild. Phew! Got all that?
You know what's really strange? I don't miss Dr. Burke on Grey's Anatomy. At all.
Kevin Rahm was Lee the new neighbor who can't like Susan on Desperate Housewives. Among his many roles, he was Kyle on Judging Amy, Dr. Danny Kozak on Jesse, and Joe Hirschoff in the two-part season premiere of CSI last year. You'll also see him this Thursday as a patient on the season premiere of Scrubs. Tuc Watkins is Lee's partner Bob. He was David Vickers on One Life to Live and I'll always remember him as Malcolm Laffley on Beggars and Choosers.
It is a slow process when I begin to fall out of love with a show.
I love musicals. Always have. As a child, my sister and I would perform "It's a Hard Knock Life" from Annie for any audience we could find. When I broke up with my high school boyfriend, I was comforted by listening to "On My Own" from Les Miserable over and over and over again. I will happily debate which Jennifer's rendition of "And I'm Telling You" from Dreamgirls is the superior version.
Stewart was the first to recognize Mark Moses, Paul Young on Desperate Housewives, is new ad executive Duck Phillips on Mad Men.
