Is the sun setting on "Grey's Anatomy?"

Trknight_katherineheigl_greysanatom Ready for this week's fearless prediction?

"Grey's Anatomy" is heading for a big ratings fall. I've already heard from so many of you who are ready to break up with the show and I don't think this week's season premiere will lure you back in. Even the fact that Callie's hair is so much better offered little comfort.

Where did the premiere go wrong? Let's count the ways.

1. We all know Dr. Burke isn't coming back. While I understand that Cristina would look for him, it still seemed ridiculous to have to go through the motions of that story line.

2. We don't need another self-involved, whiny doctor. Yes I'm talking to you Lexie.

3. Why oh why do they give Katherine Heigl, a lovely actress, such ridiculous speeches. The scenes between Izzie and George didn't even make sense.

4. I was watching the premiere with a friend who never watches the show and when Dr. Sloan said, "Get me that arm," my friend laughed out loud and said, "Boy that McSteamy can really act." When did the show become so laughable?

5. In the words of Carrie Bradshaw, I'm so over Meredith and McDreamy, they need a new word for "over."

But really what I must know is what you thought? Post your comments about "Grey's Anatomy" below.

The good news is that I have high hopes for this season of "Desperate Housewives" (Sunday at 9 p.m. on ABC). Finally it seems the show has found a mystery as juicy as its season one arc. This year's mystery comes in the form of Dana Delany and Nathan Fillion (who I'd watch in just about anything). I think the show is completely back on track but I would love to know what you think.

And don't miss the second season premiere of "Brothers & Sisters" (Sunday at  10 p.m. on ABC). Next week I'm going to talk about how some of our favorite shows are doing in their second season and the
Walker family is doing great.

Okay this is the last post for today. Have a great weekend and thanks again for all your support of my new blog format. I'll be back next week to talk about "Heroes" (did anyone else find the premiere too busy), the new comedy "Aliens in America," the return of "Friday Night Lights" (you better get on the bandwagon!) and, as promised, "Supernatural." I still love Grey's Anatomy but I have always HATED Meredith and McDreamy together. I hate their relationship and how they break up every 2 episodes and then get back together. Date someone outside of the hospital, it's healthier.

I also still love Grey's. But George and Izzy make no sense so that bothers me. I did enjoy George's moment when the interns treat him like a hero after delivering the baby. The deer story line for Izzy was a bit much too, they should have just called McVet to treat Bambi!

I was a bit more bullish about Grey's last night. I thought the episode was average, but it moved things along. Not giving hope yet.

I actually really liked how they moved things forward on Grey's last night. And I still really like the show. I'd be really upset if your prediction was right. I think it's on its way to getting back on track. (Even if I hate this George/Izzie storyline.)

I broke up with Grey's Anatomy after George & Izzie slept together last season.

Gery's was fresh and funny the first season or two, but was declining before the George/Izzie debacle. That was just the final straw for me.

After reading your review, I'm not going to watch Private Practice either.

WRONG!!! Grey's Anatomy is still awesome and I have actually introduced the show to at least 5 new people who now love it.

Everything will be just fine.

I enjoyed last nite's episode. I did find the injured deer stuff a bit of a stretch. Seriously, working in a small environment like they do it is a bit like "Peyton's Place". I can't wait to see what happens with George and his wife and then the other bits of Izzy in their lives. Seriously, when are Meredith and McDreamy going to either stop seeing each other or just shut up and stay happy?

I broke up with Grey's Anatomy after the first season because I just couldn't stand Meredith. She's so whiny. You know a series is in trouble when you hate (and I don't mean love to hate) the main character.

And when I happened to watch it last season the whole George-Izzie thing did nothing to lure me back in.

I walked away from Grey's after the ridiculous 'Denny's transplant fiasco' at the end of season 2; I saw no need to come back for season 3.

Desparate Housewives was entertaining for it's first season, but I quickly lost interest in the second season. I think the show became a parody of itself. Maybe they're back on track now and I should give it another look.

I'm officially done with Grey's now. I actually never thought the show was as great as most people, but I at least found it entertaining. But I actually had to force myself to sit through last night's episode. It was painful and I finally realized that I actually don't like ANY of the characters anymore.

And I actually thought DH got back on track last season when they were resolving the mystery surrounding Orson's ex-wife. I'm excited for that one to come back.
