tvfashwn08.jpgLet's just say it - Mary Murphy is one hot tamale.

The judge on Fox's So You Think You Can Dance works to fit her signature line.

Murphy, 51, knows that when you quit dancing you must work hard to stay in shape.

Unlike most TV personalities, Murphy creates her look.

"It is painstakingly," she says. "I do everything. I purchase it all. So I keep it all. It is all on my back; if there is anything nobody likes me wearing, I take full responsibility."

She donates dresses to the American Cancer Society. Some outfits, particularly finale ensembles, are made for her, and the rest she finds on her travels. "Every second I am not on air, I am shopping," Murphy says.

As a former ballroom dancer, she understands glamour.

"It is all about the grooming," Murphy says. "We were taught in ballroom that you did not walk into the ballroom unless you looked fabulous. I developed a style of my own."

Mostly she wears dresses from Marchesa, Dolce & Gabbana, and St. John. She also loves clothes from Jean Paul Gaultier, Mandalay, Tory Burch, Vivienne Westwood and Valentino.
Murphy shops at Neiman Marcus, Saks and Bloomingdales.

"I spend so much time shopping for the show," she says. "I'm now in Vegas. Shopping is very good, It doesn't take me long either. I put on tennis shoes. I am very, very fast, and I move around the store incredibly quick. Colors draw me. I will buy a buy pair of shoes, and I won't have an outfit for three years."

She adores shoes, and her voice rises as she exclaims, "Oh, my God, some of my shoes are so fabulous."

She wears Christian Louboutin, Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci, Christian Dior, Sergio Rossi and Alexander McQueen shoes.

Murphy isn't the sort to accessorize with a string of pearls and stud earrings.

"I love to wear costume jewelry, but when it gets down to the finale and my jewelry," she says, letting loose that whoop of a laugh, "it's done on purpose. As the season progresses, my jewelry does too."

She adores a diamond necklace that jeweler Alan Friedman loaned her. While wearing a $1.5 million bauble, Murphy says, "Man, do I feel like Cinderella. I get to go to the jewelry store and pick out. I'm relieved when I hand it back."

Overall, the look she strives for is "classy, glamour. I try to find things that are different as well. I certainly go into vintage stores, and I will shop anywhere."

"I feel good about myself," Murphy says. "I am not dancing anymore, I am a judge. I am going to put my time and effort into it and put the best look for my show out there."

I need to know where Mary got the outfit she had on Tuesday night's (11/16) show. It was GORGEOUS!!! Black long-sleeved dress (I think) with a huge satin ruffle on the left front! Exquisite; dress, makeup, hair, the whole nine, and the best she's ever looked! PLEASE, i NEED TO KNOW!
