'Golden Girls' Rue McClanahan has heart bypass surgery
'Golden Girls' star Rue McClanahan will miss a gala event in her honor in San Francisco at the Castro Theatre on Nov. 14.
And you know how Blanch Devereaux loved a good party with lots of attractive men!
According to her manager, McClanahan is recovering in a New York hospital after having heart bypass surgery.
Fingers crossed. And lots of prayers for our darling Rue.

Rue is so beloved and she has such a positive attitude. I'm sure that and all the prayers for her recovery will help sustain her. Interesting that she has such a great following of gay fans. In fact, the gala in her honor scheduled for next week was to be at the San Francisco Castro Theatre. Her fellow golden girl Bea Arthur also had a great gay fan base, who love to imitate her in drag dress -- a fun match for guys because of her commanding & tall stature and her great bass voice. We just found out this week that Bea Arthur, who died of cancer in April, left $300,000 for a residential center in New York for homeless gay teens. There's an interesting post about her work with the youthful LBGT community, particularly those whose parents have kicked them out of their home, at:
