Dakota FanningDakota Fanning talks about why she wanted to play the powerful Volturi vampire Jane in "New Moon."

"The highlight of playing Jane was getting to wear the costume and the red contact lenses and to play an evil character," she revealed at the recent "Moon" junket. "I think red eyes make everyone look very evil."

She didn't mention that she wanted to be part of such an iconic book/film series. Guess they had her at red contact lenses.

Will she have a bigger role -- and maybe more lines and more to do -- in "Eclipse"?

Not so much.

"I already finished 'Eclipse' and it's about the same. It's not very much," she admitted.

Is that a good thing or a bad thing? What do you think?

She is one of the stronger young actors working today. She will do a great job as she always does.

hi. i think that it is a gud thing becuz it is not so much about jane but about bella, edward and jacob. but jane is recognise from her eyes and people will know her and remember her. the great thing is that she gets a part in it. and this series of movies is a huge hit around the world. it would be a pleasure to do jane as a role. real pleasure!

I'm looking forward to Miss Fanning's future roles on more mature levels of acting. Like a fine red wine she really can do nothing but improve with age. Can't wait until she's thirty something to see what she's become in the world of film. But her development in character roles up until then, I'm fairly certain, will be more than quite interesting and entertaining to view.
