Winona Ryder tells BlackBook that she was responsible for Angelina Jolie getting the "Girl, Interrupted" role that won her a 1999 Oscar.
"I fought very hard for her to have that part," she says.
And a simple thank you would have been nice.
"I feel like it won't read in print very nicely if I say that wasn't really her style," Winona says. "But she seems to be a completely different person now."
Still, Winona insists: "I never had any bad feelings about Angelina."

Winona quit whining....Angelina deserves better, won the oscar and gets enough cruel viscious gossip from Jennifer Aniston...can someone give her some positive thoughts for a change?
Actually, when Angelina accepted her OSCAR her THANKED Winona. It's called YouTube.

She slammed Paltrow for stealing the 'Shakepeare in Love,' script from her on her last press junket for some movie - I guess that didn't get her sufficient ink, so she's now moved on to dissing 'Angelina Jolie' for not kissing her asss sufficiently? That's good for a few kajillion hits -- whose her agent? Stephen Huvane? LOL

Sorry Winona, but a thank you in front of millions of viewers worldwide at the Oscars, counts as a significant 'thank you.' If you, youtube it you can re-live that wonderful moment Winona.

This will be good. Now Angelina can await an apology from you, for lying and saying she never thanked you - when it doesn't come, she can give interviews where she brings you up, and whines about how she 'never got an apology from you, for saying she never thanked you when she did.'

Except -- OOPS...wait a second! Angelina has a life, and is obviously not as petty. So I doubt she'll hold it against you, that's if she even hears about it at all.

One more thing: this is just a bizarre statement. I've read many interviews about the film Girl Int, because it's a favorite of mine from when I was in college. It deeply touched me, Angelina's performance was spectacular and Winona was good too, as were all the other players. The thing I remember most about the press that was done at the time, and Angie and Wynona discussing the film, was that due to their characters kind of being at odds, and Winona playing a kind of timid character, while Angelina played the intimidating ringleader - though they liked each other, they never really got close given the circumstances, and didn't know each other that well, so how Ryder can say that Angelina "seems to be a completely different person now," after admitting enumerable times she didn't really know Jolie that well, is a big fat contradiction.

Matter of fact, I recall reading an interview from Winona not that long ago - this year some time, stating that she would have LIKED to get to know Angelina.

Angie made some close friends, and one of the girls is her son Maddox' Godmom, I recall reading once.
