Self magazine retouches Kelly Clarkson skinny! All right or so wrong?
Kelly Clarkson doesn't have a problem with her weight.
"When people talk about my weight, I'm like, 'You seem to have a problem with it; I don't. I'm fine!' " Clarkson says in the September issue of Self. "I'm never trying to lose weight – or gain it. I'm just being!"
But her record company doesn't feel that way.
Clarkson wrote on her blog in January that "they Photoshopped the crap out of me!" on her "All I Ever Wanted" album cover photo.
Now Self, the same magazine in which her above quote appears, also retouched her September cover shot to make her look more svelte.
Watch the behind-the-scenes video of the shoot.
Readers are annoyed and blasting the magazine on websites.
Lucy Danziger, editor in chief, defends the retouching on Self.com "Yes. Of course we do retouching," she writes. "Did we alter her appearance? Only to make her look her personal best."
Personal best? Is that code for slimmer?
Dubbing Clarkson "the picture of confidence," Danzinger goes on, "I think this photo is the truest we have ever put out there on the newsstand."
Dear Lord. What does that say about the other covers? Were they even MORE retouched????
What do you think about Self retouching Kelly?

Smart move retouching Kelly Clarkson! You had all us over 40 women believing there was something wrong with us because our bodies were less than the perfect size 0 or 2's of the celebrities in bikini's you have insisted on presenting on your cover. I hope you realize all those covers are now suspect!
If you are willing to give Kelly Clarkson her "personal best" figure without even telling her (keeping in mind that she is no where near 40), what have you been doing with the celebrities in bikinis photos?
Shame on you Self Magazine. You can no longer be trusted to present women as they really are!
All magazines do that. Boring topic..next..
Ok, are you kidding me! it is not that big of a difference, maybe on the arms but big deal....who cares!
The magazine, and the record label are misrepresenting Kelly Clarkson by retouching her photographs to take weight off of her. It's one thing to airbrush blemishes in the skin out, or to fix something that might have been badly lit...but they are taking several pounds off of her in the photos and that is misrepresenting who she is. She doesn't have a problem with her weight, she's still selling albums and selling out concerts....so why do any of them feel they have to put forward a false image of her? It only goes to perpetuate the stereotype that women have to look like "this" to be acceptable.
IT'S WRONG!
So freakin wrong...They aren't accepting her for who she is. They are saying - You are not good enough. allow me to make u better.
lame!!!!!

I admire and respect Kelly Clarkson just the way she really is. She is a great role model. She inspires me with her strength and character. Stay you, Kelly. They can't change THAT.
I saw Kelly in concert last week. First off, I think she looks great - she appears to have dropped a few pounds from the photo posted above. Not that I think she should have, just an observation.
Bottom line - that girl puts on a great show, and she can sing circles around some of these other "pop stars." Also, she moves around the stage a lot during her show, jumping up and down, etc - all the while with her voice clear as day, and actually singing, not using recorded tracks. You can't do that if you're not in shape. There's a reason that certain pop stars either sing OR dance in their concerts, and not both.
I want ot know where i can purchase her purple top
I'm pissed about it because as a very thin woman, I would like to receive credit for the body I worked for. When someone gets credit for being someone they're not, it frustrates me.
oh give us a break Jessica!!
