Give her a break! She doesn't look that bad for being 60 and WITHOUT any make up. The young picture shows her with a LOT of make up.
I agree. That is exceptionally mean spirited and uncalled for.
Im not even a Three's Company fan, but to compare anyone to the way they looked 30 years ago seems totally unfair.
Elizabeth Snead needs to get over herself and that fact she isnt even a real journalist. LA Times should be ashamed to have her on the payroll.
By the way, Joyce DeWitt at her prime and terrible journalist hers...hands down...Janet all the way.
We can only hope that the ravages of time are as cruel to you, Elizabeth Snead, as you are to celebrities like Joyce DeWitt. She seems to be as "allergic to the limelight" as you claim to be, but at least she has something to show for herself. It's no wonder the LA Times is tanking, paying people like you to write "articles" that are better suited for a high school yearbook. If there's any justice in the world, in thirty years we'll be treated to a mugshot of you, in the midst of a personal crisis.
Wow, what an incredibly amateur, petty way to present a celebrity DUI story!
I have no personal connection to, or love for, Ms. Dewitt. But the author's posting a decades-old photo of her is really poor form -- and completely irrelevant to the topic of the story!
Perhaps Elizabeth Snead should go join the classy folks over at TMZ. Based on this sample of her journalistic prowess, those are definitely her kind of reporters.
She looks great!
We build 'em up to tear 'em down. Big damn
deal. She got a "DUI" and just like anyone else - she'll pay for it in more ways than one. This shouldn't be one of them. Get a life...we are all human.
Now...where exactly did I miss the part of the article which spoke about looks and that she lookes bad etc.,etc. God you people are so pathetic!
I am utterly apalled after reading this article!! I couldn't believe it when I realized the author is a woman. How dare you be so cruel to Joyce DeWitt, Ms. Snead!! I'd like to see what you will look like 20 or 30 years from now without makeup and in an retouched photo. You are no spring chicken yourself! Your cruel comments were out of line and unecessary and they will come back to haunt you, I assure you. I have lost all respect for the L.A. Times.
Oh, give me a break, she was pulled over for an alleged DUI! And what personal crisis? Driving while intoxicated? If she didn't want to have her mugshot show up on TMZ, she shouldn't have been driving past a police barricade under the influence!
give elizabeth snead a break. you wouldn't be so highminded if she had injured or killed somebody with her wanton disregard for others. i'll bet you all are weeping for michael jackson too. i'm sure not. i'm weeping for all the lives he could have saved with all that money he squandered on such frivolities.
Normally I avoid gossip columns like the plague, but hearing about this from my godson as "some pathetic tabloid dish"-in the Times? I couldn't believe how low you could go. Sad day for a once great newspaper, parading a woman's photo of her worst moment like a trophy. I hope karma repays Snead and the Times in spades.
