LouReeds_James_57451824_600 Iconic rocker Lou Reed will entertain fashion folks and celebs next week at the iconic eyewear line Persol's Incognito Design Exhibition party at the Whitney Museum's sculpture garden.

Celeb guests will include Lucy Liu, Josh Lucas and Matt Dillon.

Reed was the front man for Velvet Underground and is known for his songs about transvestites, drug addicts and dominatrixes of the New York underbelly.

But that was when he was young, wild and crazy. Now he's 67 and as seemingly indestructible as Mick Jagger and Keith Richards combined.

Wonder if he'll get paid in free bifocal readers instead of punky aviator shades?

His days of taking "A Walk on the Wild Side" do seem to have been replaced by a gentle spin around the block on his bicycle.

The Incognito exhibition aims to celebrate 92 years of Persol's history, including the shades' Hollywood debut on Steve McQueen in the original "The Thomas Crown Affair." It will run June 24 to 28, 2009.

Aww, we're just funning ya, Lou. We love you and can't imagine life without your amazing songs.
