Advice for wanna-be John Mayer girlfriends: Zip It!

Let the following be a warning to all aspiring John Mayer girlfriends.

John Mayer has cut off contact with a new flame for talking about him to an Internet gossip blog.

Seriously?

His rumored recent paramour Scheana Marie Jancan (pictured) talked about Mayer to YoungHollywood.com, spilling dishy details like, "I love his personality ... he's funny. ... He can be, like, a dork."

Mayer hasn't talked to her since the story came out.  E! Online reports that a friend of Mayer has said, "The two are no longer in contact" and that Marie has been "exaggerating her interactions with him."

Even though she did specifically tell reporters, "He is not my boyfriend," Marie is afraid "she may have screwed up something with a great guy," an insider close to the 24-year-old former Hawaiian Tropic model told the New York Daily News,

Apparently, she's especially upset because her birthday is next week and she wanted John to be there for her.

Yeah, good luck with that.

The ultimate irony is that John Mayer has long used the Internet, his blog, Twitter and TMZ to leak personal details of his own love life -- especially his off-again-forever relationship with Jennifer Aniston.
