Deadpool Ryan Reynolds to fulfill destiny with role in 'X-Men' spinoff
Ryan Reynolds WILL star in "Deadpool," a spin-off for the character he played the character in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine."
Talk about fate and fulfilling your destiny. True X-Men fan boys will recall that in the original Marvel Comics, Deadpool is described as a mix between "a Shar Pei and Ryan Reynolds."
The character is one of Marvel Comics' X-Men universe's most popular heroes. Deadpool is actually Wade Wilson, a terminally ill mercenary who gets that wacky Weapon X genetic alteration drill and becomes an indestructible half-crazy antihero.
According to Variety, the film will be produced by Lauren Shuler Donner and Marvel. Did we mention that Fox is also working on a "Wolverine" sequel with the samurai storyline?
Not enough X-Men for ya?
Fox is also developing "Magneto," a film about the X-Men villain and "X-Men: First Class."

Fox needs to give the X-franchise back to Marvel Studios. "Nuff said.
They have to have Cable in a Deadpool movie. And a tribute to Bea Arthur.
But I don't think Deadpool is one of Marvel's most popular characters. Wasn't Cable & Deadpool cancelled because the sales were insanely low?
