Adam Clay

Former "American Idol" star Clay Aiken approves of the way this season's "American Idol" ended, with Kris Allen winning the title.

But don't get him started on last night's loser, Adam Lambert.

"This year, I happened to turn it on during the minute that Adam Lambert was singing "Ring of Fire" and, at that moment, thought my ears would bleed. Contrived, awful and slightly frightening! I wasn't really a fan and found myself surprised whenever folks told me that they liked him."

Why does Aiken think Kris Allen won?

"I think many voters got sick of being 'told who to vote for.' I think many were turned off by the blatant favoritism shown towards one contestant.

"And, at the same time, I think they voted AGAINST an 'American Idol' that has, for four years now, been more about the slick productions and polished contestants than it has been about finding the raw talent that it did in its first three seasons."

What do you think? Do you agree with Clay?

I agree with every single word on Clay Aiken's blog.

clay is jealous. any person, especially one with a musical backround would be remiss to not appreciate the talent of adam lambert. clay is not the sweet guy i thought he was.

Clay Aiken has become this bitter, spiteful person over the last few years. Perhaps it is because he career is fading faster than a pair of new blue jeans. Comments like the one he made were unproffessional and its going to come back to bite him. I have noticed a lot of jealousy from former American Idol contestants such as Clay Aiken and Chris Daughtry. I am assuming it's because Lambert is being touted as the best American Idol contestant ever. I'm sure it must be killing them since they have such big egos, Lambert was brilliant throughout the entire show. When you watch a Aiken performance you want to poke your eyes out. Please don't make me have to look at the guy!!

i was a clay fan sorry clay you only wish you could sing that good

Clay Aiken is jealous of Adam.

Clay didn't win either -- imagine that

I think it says a lot for Adam that Clay doesn't like him! Clay is obviously a nasty person, while Adam is a really cool and classy guy. In fact, if the tides were turned, there's NO WAY you'd hear Adam saying something negative about Clay. I've done a lot of googling about Adam, and I haven't heard that he's said anything negative about anything or anyone. He's awesome, Clay knows it, and he's jealous!

Case in point is that Clay says he's happy Kris won even though he never heard him. Further, the ONLY song he'd heard from Adam was "Ring of Fire," which I loved but (understandably) many found a bit too edgy for their more conservative tastes. It's no surprise, therefore, that a nerd like Clay would dislike it.

I actually liked Clay a lot when he was on Idol. He SEEMED cool at the time, but his loss seems to have eaten away at his character and made him bitter. That's sad. Happily, judging from Adam's enduring confidence and gracious handling of taking second to his pal, Kris, I don't see him becoming as negative and desperate as Clay seems to be. Adam is awesome, and I'm actually really glad for him, too, that he came in second.: not because I favor Kris (he's talented and nice, mind you, just not my musical preference), but because he'll have more freedom to express himself the way he wishes. Who knows what his first CD will be like, but I know I'll be buying it no matter what! I'm grateful to him for making this season of American Idol extra fun and exciting, and I can't wait to return the favor by buying everything he produces!

Listening to Clay Aiken lambaste Adam Lambert sounds like envy big-time....Clay never got the adulation and respect from the judges which was showered on Lambert week after week...Could the envy stem from physical appearance? Adam is tall, dark, and gorgeous....Clay is tall, light, and homely.....

At least Adam acted like the person he is and not like someone I remember .

Count on in Clay, Adam will make it bigger than you.

Damn, Clay! Sour grapes or what? Unlike you, I love the contestants of Seasons 7 and 8!
