Nadya Suleman's mom was paid to bash daughter?

RadarOnline.com landed quite a scoop with its exclusive video interview with Nadya Suleman's mother, Angela Suleman, who bad-mouthed her daughter for not being able to care for her 14 children properly.

The interview, according to Matea Gold at ShowTracker, was then picked up by ABC's "Good Morning America," which paid what the network calls a "nominal fee" for the footage.

Nadyaangie1_001 She writes that "paying licensing fees for photos and/or videos is a common among morning news programs, which use them to skirt news division policies that prohibit paying for interviews."

But according to Gold, ABC may have paid to license an interview that was purchased outright.

Joann Killeen, Nadya Suleman's publicist, says that RadarOnline gave Angela Suleman $40,000 for the exclusive video chat. OK, now it's really getting ugly. And greedy!

"I had to put a gag on Nadya's mother, who sold her out to RadarOnline," she told LA Weekly. "They paid her $40,000 to sell [Nadya] out, and she can't talk about her daughter for three months."

No word yet from Angela about this. But I guess with the gag and all, she's finding it tough to talk. Does Killeen mean a gag order or literally a gag? It's hard to tell.

RadarOnline managing editor David Perel has admitted that his company paid Splash News to license photos used in the piece, but refused to comment on whether Angela Suleman benefited financially from the photo sales.

Oh, and then he hung up the phone.

Hmmm. What do you think? Are these news organizations coughing up for Nadya's mom Angela's story, but they just don't want to admit it for fear of viewer outrage?

I'm outraged that anyone would even care about this mom. check it out, she even has a website to donate to her. She's only after the money, and I hate it.

This is unbelievable. At age 18, some 33 years ago, I made the decision that I could not financially and emotionally support ONE child by myself at 1975 costs. Now the state of CA is being forced to take care of 14 children because of this woman, and the doctor who had a duty to be sure she was fit and cable of raising over one dozen children. I agree with Mr. Kim's comment, she (and her doctor) are only after the money...

This woman is a parasite of the society and should be severely punished. Her existence is a threat to many working people and honest people's welbeing.

get a life people! millions live on public assistance--and many more use public money for hospital treatment, this is not new. many pp. in the 60's & 70's had 8-14 kids with only one working parent and small three bedroom home--i was one of them and we all turned out just fine and there was no costco-walmart-or disposable diapers or convenience foods. was my mom worked to the bone--yes! my dad worked out of town all week-so she was practically single. we had no money, but as a kid never knew. i shared a room with three siblings--big deal. we all had to help the family and grew up being responsible adults and my siblings are my best friends. stop dwelling on the negative-- get a life people and leave nadya alone.

what evil is in people's heart. Nadya you judge yet you've never met her. There is a reason God tells us not to judge. For if we judge,we will be judged.Someday we will all stand before God and give an accounting of every word and deed we have uttered and done.Words which have been said in unkindness about another is a serious offense. To so speak of another person really says it is YOU that has an issue with something horriblly wrong with your own hearts.Someone stated how honest they are...honest?...You have never talked to nadya..all you know is what everyone else is saying...and calling it gospel truth. Do you know how foolish that is???Severely punished? For making a unwise decision? What is wrong with you oh righteous one that is so perfect you've never errored! Your lack of compassion is tragic.

I hope people will leave her alone. She's not a parasite. Seeing children as parasites is what wrong with this Country. Show a little compassion. Everyone has their reasons for having kids. Maybe hers were messed up but it's not like she FORCED her embryos to split.

Unlike Nadya, Angela Suleman has provided food, shelter and clothing for her six grandchildren. I don't begrudge her in the least the money she recieved for granting an interview and footage of her home. Furthermore, I don't believe that Angela "sold out" Nadya by speaking her mind. It is a devastating situation and Nadya is a mental case that thinks it "turned out perfectly".

The mother should be reimbursed for talking. After all, she has been paying to support her deadbeat daughter and six grandkids, she probably needs the money. And, she tells it like it is. I want to hear more from her. I hope she gets a lot of money for telling the truth.

I'm sorry I really don't understand how all this bashing will help those kids. We are so quick to judge others. I strongly disagree w/ her decisions, but if she has a history of depression all our bashing and nasty comments will only trigger her to fall into depression and probably affecting her kids. We should just leave her alone if were not willing to help.

I think if Nadya Suleman were a black woman with 6 children receiving SS benefits and food stamps, she would have been coerced into sterilization.
