Demaris Meyer, the woman who was riding in the car actor Morgan Freeman crashed last year, tells the press that the actor had been drinking a lot that night, according to TMZ.
But she's not his mistress. Although she might have been on her way to filling that position.
At a news conference Wednesday, Meyer told reporters that when she met him that night at dinner, she saw that "throughout the course of dinner and afterward drinks were consumed by Freeman."
She later met up with him at a friend's home, where he "had at least one more drink." So of course, why not hop in the car with a clearly inebriated celebrity?
She says it was only after being offered a place to stay -- at his home, or rather, the guest house -- that she got in the car with him. Oh yeah, we've all heard that old saw.
But then, darn it, Morgan lost control of the car and crashed around 11:30 p.m.
Meyer says she got a broken wrist, scapula, a torn labrum (what on earth is that?) and cuts and bruises.
She's suing Morgan for medical expenses, pain and suffering, lost wages, permanent disability for short-term memory loss and damages. Oh, and short-term memory loss.
Poor Morgan. He certainly didn't get very lucky that night, did he?

I never heard of a breathalyzer test being performed that night on my man Morgan. What up coppers? Was he drunk or not?
If he had alot to drink...why would you get in the car with him???? If you already had other arrangements. Unless you expected something out of it.
Could Meyer had distracted him and caused him to have lost control. And now of course the BIG LAW SUIT. Fancy attorney's do you smell the money!!!!!
He was driving her car?? Seems HER insurance should pay for her expenses since she was stupid enough to let him drive after he'd been drinking!! She accepted FULL responsibility when she handed him those keys!! Can she say- IDIOT
? I have is if you think someone has had to much to drink and you still invite or accept a ride from said person, you accept any and all consquences that might happen. If I remember thats what my Parents told me...
I AGREE WITH THE OTHER COMMENTS..IF YOU ARE IN COMPANY OF ONE WHO HAS ALOT TO DRINK, DO NOT GET INTO THE CAR...PERHAPS SHE WAS ALSO DRINKING, AND DID NOT WANT TO DRIVE..REGARDLESS, NO ONE DIED....OF COURSE NOW, SOME LAWYER WILL BE ALITTLE RICHER ALONG WITH THIS CLIENT...HOPE CASE GETS DISMISSED
If Mr. Freeman had as much to drink as Demaris Meyer's says, she sure used poor judgement to get into the car with him. She said she had memory loss. It sounds to me like her memory didn't stay gone for too long. Just another example of someone else looking for their 15 minutes of fame. Enjoy it while you got it. Soon you too will be a forgotten nobody.

I am unsure, but I do recall Freeman being tested negative for substance abuse. And if he HAD been drinking and was not fit to drive, then it was her stupidity and lack of judgement for getting into the car.
I hope the judge throws it out. She needs to punished for making poor choices. We do not need stupid people.
This dumb broad is hoping for a cushy life, and is playing the fake pity card to suck him financially as much as possible.
Instead of being thankful she is still alive, she has to go about playing the stereotypical 'victim' serving court papers.
Such people need perspective SMACKED into their heads.
I hate people like her who try to scam money. I hope Freeman doesn't cave and negotiate a settlement, and I hope the judge and jury tell her to take a hike.
