44637505 Hated first lady Michelle Obama's one-shouldered white inaugural ball gown by Jason Wu?

Well, Vogue editor Anna Wintour love-loved it.

But if you didn't, then you may not like Jason Wu's magenta gown Obama wears on the March cover of Vogue.

Inside the magazine, she also wears a black dress by Narciso Rodriguez, (according to the Washington Post).

You may recall that Rodriguez designed that -- I'm sorry, but I have to say this -- absolutely horrendous and totally unflattering red-and-black gore-fest of a dress Obama wore on election night.

There. I said it and I feel much better.

Michelle Obama is the first black first lady of the United States. And she's only the second first lady in U.S. history to grace the cover of Vogue. The other was Hillary Rodham Clinton. How'd I forget that?

Why did Vogue put Michelle Obama on the cover? Other than to sell magazines, of course?

Editor Anna Wintour writes, "Change was the clarion call of Barack Obama's election campaign, though I don't think any of us at Vogue initially realized that would include the difference that was going to be made by First Lady Michelle Obama's wardrobe.... It's inspiring to see our first lady so serene and secure in her personal style."

Which may be the equivalent of Wintour's "The Devil Wears Prada" mode maven Meryl Streep's dismissive remark to the frumpy intern played by Anne Hathaway, "No, no. That wasn't a question."

What do you think? What would you like to see Michelle wear in a Vogue fashion spread?

I agree re the dress Michelle wore on election night. She looked like - and I hope this is not prescient - a black widow, with the red hourglass on her belly. Just horrendous symbolism!!!

Shame to Vogue for putting America's ugliest fisrt lady on the cover.

Perhaps Vogue and other magazines believe that if they say it long enough it will be true. We have had other stylish first ladies, and they did not get the hype that Mrs. Obama is getting. The black and red dress was just plain ugly, and the yellow coat and dress looked like an old lady's outfit. Give us all a break and stop with the gushing.

Give me a break! She is what she is, first lady. The comparison to Jackie is nothing less than ridiculous! The woman may have a somewhat refine presents to the country, but she does not belong on Vogue or any other "fashion" magazine!

Her task in fashion really HURTS.

Laura Bush was a first lady with impeccable taste in fashion. Her appearance was nothing less than flawless.

The gushiness is only a desperate desire to take a "younger" first lady and make her a fashion icon.

Michelle Obama is the wife of the President. She needs to concentrate more on vitally needed programs for worthy Americans, especially during these times.

Who gives a hoot about Vogue anyway!

Sorry, I meant "taste" in fashion really hurts....like my skill in spelling.

Why do the Obama's always need to be compared to "heros" people just aren't buying the propaganda campaign. Obama campaigned as JFK, NOW he's playing LINCOLN, this is really getting silly. Michelle is a manly, fugly black woman with a rotten personality. Money can't buy class. Money can't by graciousness(Laura Bush) and she is Not Princess Di. Vogue must be desperate.

Michelle O on Vogue, grooooosss!

It's pretty sad that Laura Bush, who actually is pretty , never made it. Oh i forgot she is a republican, fashion mags drool over liberalism now, and even would publish photos of even a democratic monkey

wow, that was racist

I'm tired of the media telling me how beautiful Michelle is. Like i'm blind or something. I can see, and what i'm seeing, is a "3" trying to be sold as a 8 or 9. I really doubt anybody thinks she is actually beautiful. Unless you're comparing her to a man.
