Where were Sean Penn, James Franco and Mariska Hargitay Sunday night?
Nominees Mariska Hargitay, Sean Penn and James Franco skipped the Golden Globes Sunday night.
Penn could have been upset that "Milk" was not nominated for Best Picture and Franco could have been siding with his "Milk" costar.
Read Tom O'Neil's take on their MIA status. Or Penn could have been partying with Lindsay Lohan.
But only Mariska had a really good excuse.
We're talking a REALLY good excuse.
She's suffering from a collapsed lung, according to Access Hollywood.com
"Mariska Hargitay has been sidelined with a pneumothorax (a partially collapsed lung)," the rep for her show told Access Hollywood. Despite the injury, "she will appear in all episodes for the rest of the season of 'Law &Order: SVU,' " her rep added. It didn't happen on the set. Instead it happened on vacation? Hmm, skiing maybe?
Pneumothorax occurs as a result of the "buildup of air in the space between the lung and the chest wall."
It is often caused by a chest injury like a puncture wound or broken rib, but can occur without injury.
Treatment can include oxygen and observation by a doctor, while serious cases may need surgery.
Get well soon, Mariska.

Actually, while the Globes were being televised, Sean Penn and his wife were spotted walking into a showing of Slumdog Millionaire near their Northern California home, and apparently James Franco was very, very sick and decided it was better to stay home.
