OK, now Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen ARE engaged!

Gisele Bündchen and Tom Brady are now officially engaged!

The New England Patriots quarterback proposed with a diamond solitaire to the Brazilian supermodel on Friday, says People.

"He asked and she accepted," a source close to the couple says. Family and friends were filled in over the weekend. An official announcement, and prelim wedding details, are being planned by Bündchen and her closest friends this week.

"The couple is discussing a huge fashionista event in the spring or a more intimate and quicker ceremony in Costa Rica, where Gisele has a home," the source adds.

Expect a flurry of super hot supermodels descending on Costa Rica with their string bikinis. Woo-hoo!

Engagement rumors flew -- and were hotly denied --  just before Christmas. But after that strangely false start, now it's official.

This will be the first marriage for Tom and Gisele.
