Anne Hathaway's hot Palm Springs desert date

Anne Hathaway is already showing off her brand new man, Adam Shulman.

She brought the actor to the opening gala of the Palm Springs International Film Festival last night.

An E! reporter spotted them in a quick smooch when she got up to accept her award for "Rachel Getting Married." But Adam didn't actually walk the red carpet with her. He waited in the wings.

Good.

He did get to sit at her table with her brother, Michael.

Anne's new dude: Dud or stud?

BTW, Hathaway wore a black strapless Balmain dress, Christian Louboutin shoes and Cartier jewels.

So: Is it a bit soon for Anne to be trotting out the new show pony when the old one is still rotting in jail? (Or did he get out?)
