Reports are surfacing that "Grey's Anatomy" star T.R. Knight has asked to be released from his contract.

Wait, he's still ON the show?

Coulda fooled us. Where has he been? What with all the screen time devoted to Katherine Heigl's' character's bizarre sex fantasy romance with her dead husband, Denny, I guess there wasn't room for a plot point involving Knight's nebbishy character.

Trknigh_eric_16110867_600 Were the writers too busy making sure that Heigl couldn't whine about not having good enough material to warrant an Emmy to write anything for T.R.?

How should Izzie die? You decide!

According to EW, the show's creator and ABC are OK with his demand for freedom. "They're working out the details now," whispers an ABC insider to EW.

Rumors of Knight's unhappiness at "Grey's" date to the time when Isaiah Washington called him a you-know-what.

He was reportedly annoyed that it took the show's creator Shonda Rhimes so long to publicly condemn Washington's use of a stereotype slur, even as his co-stars sprang to his aid. Carry a grudge much?

The incident caused him to come out as a gay man and get a pretty darn cute new boyfriend (Mark Cornelsen) as a result. Maybe he should thank Isaiah? Or maybe not.

ABC and Knight's spokesperson have declined to comment.

What do you think? Should T.R. go?

And where? I mean, what other projects -- big and small screen -- could you see him doing well in?

Gee..figured it would be Katherine Heigl's fault - like the global financial crisis, malnutrition in Africa, the rise in crime...she seems to get the blame for everything..so why not this! Geez.

you should give him a heart condition that only preston burke can repair...and watch him die on the table

The writing on GA has gotten so ridiculously bad that I think all the primary actors/actresses should ask to be let go of their contracts before they damage their careers.

(How in the heck does K Heigl keep a straight face doing those weird "sex-with-a-ghost scenes"?)

He contributes nothing; no one can really imagine any of those beautiful girls being in love with him.. he's just a nerd.

Does anyone really care if he leaves? I don't

Yes, ABC please release T.R. and continue with the pruning of the gays...but by all means keep Izzie having sex with her DEAD HUSBAND'S GHOST. That storyline can stay because they aren't having disgusting gay sex. /sarcasm

He seems like a nice person-and he's a sweet actor. I hope that he leaves in the best way possible. Good for him that he's out of the closet and proud!

First off, Denny was never Izzie's husband, just (barely) her fiancee. But that's beside th point - that storyline is ridiculous and her character brings nothing to the table.

I'd rather watch a George storyline any day.

Wait, doesn't Denis Leary's character on Rescue Me commune with the dead? If the writers grew an, OH I DUNNO... imagination, maybe TR would have something challenging to do. I've always liked the part he plays.

I want TR gone he is not only annoying on the show but in most of his interviews and he has no real plot on the show. SERIOUSLY nothing is going on for hm right now, the new interns have more going on and a whole lot interesting then he will ever be. I suggest that he switches hospitals or go to Iraq whatever just go! I would have rather they kept Isaiah Washington he was such a better actor and i know what he said was wrong but you cant tell me that TR did not use it to his advantage because of the incident NBC renegotiated his contract increased his pay he became bet friends with Ellen (who i love by the way go Ellen!) and has a boyfriend. If anything Isaiah did him a favor but now the hype is gone and all that is left are TR's lame acting skills and his pathetic role on greys. Greys does not need him they need to drop him and replace his airtime with lexi and mark, that's whats up!:)
