Sarah Palin's daughter Bristol has a son, Tripp Easton Mitchell
Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's daughter Bristol Palin and her boyfriend Levi Johnston are proud new parents of a baby boy, according to People.
His name is Tripp Easton Mitchell Johnston, says Colleen Jones, Bristol's grandmother's sister.
"We think it's wonderful," said Jones, the sister of Bristol's grandmother Sally Heath. "The baby is fine and Bristol is doing well. Everyone is excited."
The baby's father is an apprentice electrician and former Wasilla High School hockey player. He and Bristol have been dating for three years.
Bristol Palin is completing her high-school diploma through correspondence courses. Johnston is studying to become an electrician. He and Bristol plan to wed in 2009 and raise the child together.
Kinda like Jamie Lynn Spears and her boyfriend Casey Aldridge said they planned to do.
Just mentioning: This week, Levi mother, Sherry Johnston, was charged with six felony counts
of misconduct involving a controlled substance, described by an Alaska State Troopers spokeswoman as being "Oxycontin."
Her arraignment is set for Jan. 6.

Congradulations! We are in full support of your Family. Thank you for giving us hope in our Government. Some day I hope I can serve our great nation around you. I am a libertarian, but trust your commitment to serving as a non-politician. Someday the people who truely love this country will be able to hand it back to the true owners of this great nation. That day is near. Best wishes to you and your family. Some day I will return to the greatest state of Alaska. Your supporter, Zachary Scott Taylor
"Dating for 3 years" nowdays means "Screwing for 3 years". Congrats, Hockey Family!
Assuming that Tripp has the neoconservative gene, he is now the front runner for the GOP presidential nomination in '12.
Some reports say he was born Sunday, others Saturday -- in either case, on a day with few people in the hospital -- allegedly at 5:30 a.m. Neither the hospital or Palin's office will confirm it. Obviously, no real reporting on this, just repetition of announcements made by the family. No medical reports again, or any evidence -- how do we know it is even hers, and that she didn't just adopt it?
@Zachary Scott Taylor:
How is it possible to be a libertarian but still support Palin? Her conservative ways surely go against all that you're meant to stand for? In particular reference to this article - the key issue of abortion.
It is a sad commentary on our morals that unwed persons having children is more or less an accepted fact of life. No wonder there is so much corruption in business and the government. Without this lapse in ethics there might not have been the economic crisis we now have.
Disgraceful!
American teens need to start having more babies and less abortions! The Palins are role models for a new generation of future parents.
Naming your child Tripp when one of the grandmothers is facing drugs charges. Now that is funny.
So, you can dish out the bitchy, but you can't take it when readers give it back. See: When you tried to be funny and snarky, and instead showed yourself to be a moron about firearms. That's typical for a "journalist". Congrats to the Palins and Johnstons.
