There really are two sides to Britney Spears.

Here's a promotional video for her new album, "Circus," in which she sounds happy and upbeat and, frankly, a bit fake.

In a sing-songy voice, she talks about the album coming out on her birthday and the "Womanizer" song being an empowering message for girls, etc., etc.

This is the simple, sweet Britney we all remember.

But in the second video, a promo for her MTV documentary on her life and comeback, Britney sounds darker and sadder than you've ever seen or heard her before. This is a lost and lonely little girl.

Who is the real Britney?

The smiley, happy Brit promoting her danceable album?

Or the introspective, confused, frightened and very human young woman in the documentary video?

Umm... so she has two sides to her. You can be happy w/ a project and career and still have personal troubles... and vice versa. It's stupid to think a person is just happy or just sad at a ll times. As humans we all have problems... Britneys' finally showing some realness... and its abt time! They're both the real britney!
