Shocker: Mickey Rourke spouts gay slur to paparazzi
Things got pretty heated with "The Wrestler" star Mickey Rourke last night.
He was spotted out on the town with a tall blond and then dogged by the video paparazzi. You'd think after a few years of obscurity and his film now winning the Venice Film Festival Golden Lion award, he would be OK with a little media attention. Not the case.
When asked whether he was dating his "Wrestler" costar Evan Rachel Wood, Rourke said, "Do I look like I'm dating Evan Rachel Wood this evening, guys? C'mon, get a grip. She's a good friend, that's about it."
He followed up with some cursing that included a gay slur. "And tell that ... who said all that ... in the paper, I'd like to break his ... legs."
Yikes.
Hey, it's Mickey Rourke. Whaddya expect!?
But is this any way to jump-start an Oscar campaign?

"The Wrestler" won Venice's Golden Lion but Mickey Rourke did no win the best actor award. The award went instead to Silvio Orlando for his performance in "Il Papa' di Giovanna".
Ummm...The Paps should know not to mess with Rourke. He makes Sean Penn look like a saint.Still the best actor of his generation. Can't wait to seem him get his oscar nomination.
The only reason he didn't win best actor in Venice is because of a stupid rule that wouldn't allow the Golden Lion winner to win any other award. Go get 'em Mickey!
Rourke would have won the Best Actor award at Venice but they have a rule where the actor from the Best Film cannot win an award. The jury (Wim Wenders) went on record saying they wanted to give it to Rourke.
Man, we live in ugly times. First they provoke a celebrity and then use the material to tear them down. A new word has to be coined to describe this breed of scum.
Well, seems like Mickey was referring to Perez Hilton who has called Evan some pretty despicable names on his blog, so I will give Mickey a big pat on the back for this one. An Irishman standing up for a friend can be a little harsh sometimes.
"A little harsh"?
I wonder if people would be calling Rourke's remark "a little harsh" had the man -- whether Irish or Chinese, defending a friend or attacking his neighbor's dog, after being provoked by the media or not -- used some vile black or Jewish slur.
His Oscars chances would most likely have gone up in smoke then and there.
I should have added:
IF Rourke really did say those things. I couldn't find any corroboration for the paparazzi story.
This is exactly what gay blogger Perez Hilton of perezhilton.com, posted, "Evan Rachel ***** is probably already f..king Mickey Rourke - and his mom - as we speak!"
*
Mickey apologized; Perez is still spewing hateful twisted comments.

Mickey is a man's man....and a woman's man...leave him alone.
Mickey ROCKS!!
Why don't you go stuff some envelopes.
