60175Good grief. Is everyone in politics having an affair?

First, the National Enquirer reports that former Sen. John Edwards was having an affair with Rielle Hunter.

Turns out he was. And he finally admitted it a few months ago and apologized, etc., etc.

Then the tab reported that Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin had an affair with Todd Palin's friend and snowmobile business partner.

It's still unconfirmed and based on conveniently unnamed sources.

Now the Huffington Post is reporting an Enquirer exclusive that alleges Cindy McCain, John McCain's wealthy meal ticket, er, beer heiress wife, er, devoted second wife and aspiring first lady, has been having an affair with some long-haired  '70s rocker-looking dude.

And they've got a grainy photo to prove it!

I don't know about this. Frankly, I wouldn't be surprised if buttoned-up Cindy had found happiness outside her stuffy, political marriage.  But I remain totally unconvinced by this story and its sources. And especially by this photo that looks like it was totally photoshopped and then had lots of "noise" added.

What about you? Is this just more liberal mudslinging? Are they kicking poor McCain when he's down?

McCain's political career may take a slow nose-dive after his defeat to Barack Obama. Let's hope his marriage doesn't too.

AMI, which owns the Enquirer is in financially precarious shape, so if Cindy sues them -- and she should --that might be the blow that finally does them in.

While she's at it, she ought to sue Arianna Huffington for reprinting the slander.

No. A real photographer would have a better, cleaner photo than this. I don't buy it. Leave them alone, they bowed out gracefully.

Cindy McCain would never wear a plaid like that....or a common turtleneck......looks more like one of Hugh Hefner's ex's

That picture is so cut-rate and grainy that that could be any white lady with a ponytail. Somebody should be fired for that. Seriously...

Anyone who honestly believes she is fufilled with Grandpa and not getting some action elsewhere are seriously deluding themselves. it appears while Gramps was doing his thing with young mistresses, Cindy was getting her groove back too.

i'm so glad to find that 100% of the comments here do not believe this slander. i second everything bobbiewick wrote.

How about we just leave the McCain's alone? I voted for Obama, but I am sick to death of the mudslinging and gossip that we Americans are so fond of. My parents used to say "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all." I think this nation needs a course in basic civility.

"Liberal mudslinging"? Was it liberal mudslinging when the same tabloid caught John Edwards? Attributing every negative story to a conspiracy by the other side is plain childish, but it's also transparently ludicrous in this context. The Enquirer doesn't care what party a candidate comes from--they care about the greenbacks, that's all. Washington has a culture of adultery because divorce--which is pretty common elsewhere--can sometimes be ruinous to politicians. I personally don't see a failed marriage as automatic evidence that a person can't govern well, but that's because I live in the reality-based world. I say that as an avowed McCain hater who nonetheless thinks this adultery stuff has gotten way out of hand.

If she is haveing a affair it would serve mccain right, after all look what he did to his first wife who waited for him to come home from the pow camp..Lmao what comes around goes around... Karma sucks

Even if it is true, who the hell can blame her? He's one cold mofo. He's called her some rather unbecoming names in public, imagine how he treats her in private.

There's a damned good reason Cindy lives in AZ and John lives in DC.
