Richard Dreyfuss calls Oliver Stone 'fascist,' criticizes 'W.'
Complimented on his "W." tour de force as VP Dick Cheney on "The View" this week, Richard Dreyfuss bragged, "You should see my Hitler."
Asked what gave him the courage to say yes to this daunting role, he replied, "Money. He also called his director, Oliver Stone, "a fascist."
As for his opinion of the film, he calls it "6/8ths of a great film."
"The acting is terrific and I think a lot of the writing is good, but I don't really know why Oliver didn't come to a conclusion with it," Dreyfuss said. "... I think there's a character missing from the film. ... I think it's a very good and shockingly empathetic picture of Bush ... but it leaves out us, because we were all terrified of our own president and that terror is our reality. And that character is not in the film, so ... I question whether the film will have any historic legs."
Could "W." still affect next week's presidential election?
"I don't think it ever had a chance of affecting the election because Americans have a habit of making up their minds too soon," he replied.
Gosh, Richard. Tell us how you really feel.
Do you agree with Dreyfuss about Stone and the movie?

Dreyfuss is upset that Stone made Bush a "shockingly empathetic figure"? I assume what he means is, he wanted Stone to portray Bush as a monster for whom the audience would have no sympathy. Wouldn't that be a bad thing in a main character?
Dreyfuss clearly just wanted the paycheck and was hoping to bash Bush. And what's with the "6/8"? Hey Richard, I personally thought it was 17/22 of a great film.
Why do actors think that anyone cares about their political opinions? Dreyfuss is a good thespian but he should keep his mouth shut and not prove himself an idiot on other matters.
Dreyfuss really did a great job of showing a shockingly evil side to the V/P. Must be very satisfying to an actor to be really into the part so well.
Richard Dreyfuss is one of the smartest people around. I saw the movie and I completely agree with him. He's honest-and is an amazing actor to boot. At least he's telling the truth.
I literally walked in the door from seeing "W." to hear that Cheny had endorsed McCain. I thought it was a great movie, 8/8ths. While the movie was empathetic to George W. the man, it showed clearly why he should never have been Pesident. Cheney was frightening, but only because I have met Cheney types in real life. Had I had any doubt about my vote, Cheney's endorsement of McCain would have sealed it: vote Obama.
6/8 only makes sense as a time signature.
he would have said 3/4 if he had passed 3rd grade math.
concerned that W sets up a Bush Dynasty with Jeb ready to run; why is Bush Sr. left so unrevealed. Seems Stone was afraid to address the actual history.
At first I was thinking R **** Dreyfuss was going to say something important, but yet again the left winging freaks of Hollyweird want to spew their perception of truth. So very sick of Oliver Stone and **** Dreyfuss among so many others who think this country would be better served by the celebrity world. Now we have an actual star in office, who was bought and paid for by hollywoods celebrities and the farthest left this country has ever seen. Heyo boyos give your reighning celeb bo the chance and the movies you will soon be making will be only governmaent approved. The people who stand against torture and beleive in all human rights are about to be enslaved in a mess of left wing thinking and communism in MY country. This makes me mad, I do not want my children held back by communism. If things do not change
