What do you think of Jessica Simpson's performance last night on "Dancing With the Stars"?
Was she dreadful? Passable? Amazing? Simply lackluster? Or screechingly bad?
Poor Jess hasn't been getting rave reviews for her stage performances lately.
A reviewer in Canada's Windsor Star wrote:
"The 28-year-old Texan knows she has to work twice as hard to earn her stripes as a performer. But with zero stage presence, a voice that only occasionally found the right note, and [a] batch of ordinary new songs, it was all in vain."
Her stage presence was further criticized in the review, saying she "paced back and forth across the stage like a table dancer," and when the former reality TV star explained the meaning behind one of her songs, she told women in the audience to "run the other way if they're in an abusive relationship, 'preferably in a pair of Jessica Simpson boots."

She was REALLY bad!! I wasn't really watching the TV, but had it on. When she started singing, I had to go look to see who was sounding awful.
How did she ever become a "celebrity"? She cannot stay on key, her stage presence is very awkward;, she looks like she is eating the microphone, and what is with all of the overdone facial expressions and jaw wobbling? Poor thing is an embarrassment and why in the world would DWTS think they need "talent" of this low calibre?
She is trying WAY to hard to do a southern accent, and if she would just stop that and sing in her normal voice she would sound really pretty. Unless you are actually Southern(and I have never really counted Texas as being part of the south) you shouldn't try a southern accent because it sounds fake. Notice that she doesn't do it on Angels and she sounds beautiful.
She was horrible.
oh God where do i start she sounded very nasily on some parts breathy and her voice was forced all together a BIG mess!! i think her sound on angels was totally different then how she sounded when she first performed it , it sounded better before.. it was so bad seriously not tryin to exagerate here but it bothered me hearing her it was alot of screaming...i dont think jessica is a live singer she is a studio singer she doesn't have that amazing natural voice like carrie, martina, leann and so on , jessica is famous because she's pretty and is nice to look at...i think she should just concentrate on her collection she does have an eye for that kind of thing...fashion (except lately her style sucks right now) fashion is where she belongs...jessica is no singer and she is going to learn that the hard way when these girls who can blow her out of the water sing and perform she is no carrie and right now carrie is one of her biggest comps.
She actually did a pretty good job there. Now if you saw here when she performed that song on the TODAY show that's when she sounded really awful. I felt kind of bad for her. And she is really pushing the southern accent thing now that she's doing country and its just not believable. She should just be herself. Being from Texas should be enough she doesn't need to fake it.
She sounds about as good as Sarah Palin.
I have heard Cats in Heat. sound better and more in tune.....she needs about 7 more back up singers to drown her out.....OUCH!
I personally am tired of all the haters out there is it because she is all natural and beautiful and she can sing or is it because your all on the bandwagon of nick lachey and carrie underwood grow up!
The canadian review was done before she even had her concert. You don't give a concert review before you even go to the concert! Amazing how before her divorce she was this gifted singer, yet now all the haters have come out. Jessica Simpson has a beautiful voice and I for one hope she stays around in country for a long time. She co-wrote 8 of her 11 songs on her album and I have found i like each and every one.
