How do some of the cast of "The Women," feel about female vice presidential candidate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin?

This all-female-cast film took 15 years to get made and is opening Sept. 12, in the same month that Gov. Palin was  picked to be Republican John McCain's  running mate. The film stars Annette Bening, Eva Mendes, Meg Ryan, Jada Pinkett-Smith, Debra Messing, Candace Bergen and Cloris Leachman and opens nationwide this week.

Annette and Eva talk about Palin's politics and her family.

Director Diane English, who rewrote the original script from George Cukor's 1939 version, says the main  reason the film was so long in the making is because it was incredibly hard to get a studio to make a movie starring only women.

She calls the fortuitous timing for her film made by, with and for modern women "the perfect storm."

More like a hurricane.

It is a real shame that you cannot see that Palin a vp candidate has more expierience than your presidential nomination. I am really amused you and obama need to get over it..

Your question "How do some of the cast of "The Women," feel about the first female vice presidential candidate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin?"

She isn't the first female vice presidential candidate. That honor belongs to Geraldine Ferraro, who was on the democratic ticket with Walter Mondale in 1984.

Jackie S.

I'd like to learn more about the aerial shouting of wolves. What are those websites.

Thanks for the insights from an Alaskan point of view.

danielle,

Annette Benning was being respectful towards Palin.....doyou even pay attention to what others say, or are you another knee-jerk republican?

jackie

at best, you are an ill-informed Alaskan- since you are in the minority in your state. palin has over 80% approval ratings. at worst, you are an Obama troll. since i've seen similar letters - almost verbatim, claiming to be concerned Alaskans and making the same accusations, i would put my money on the latter.

don't you have phony voters to register? or is a promotion required?

Thank you Jackie.

What a horrible, biased email on Sarah Palin. Annette seems to be the kind of woman who would steal another womans husband. And someone who would kick someone when they are down. I suppose she has so much experience and expertise that you would even ask her for her opinion. I have to say I will give Sarah Palin some credit for going out and being her own woman. I am trying to make a decision on a president candidate and the Mc Cain ticket looks better and better.

I am the old white woman 81 with childrenetc--always worked --cause I had to an Ilovedit --sarah palin is a joke and a nightmare that doesnt go away whn I wake up--that mccain coul even consider her is an insult to this country--she is against free speech against roevs wade--and against freedom of religion--what ajoke --hope its not on us===

I think I came to admire McCain for his pick of Palin.

It was a shrewd move, and did exactly what he wanted it to do, it revitalized the Republican Party, revitalized the election, and gave people something to be excited about. Notice the wild feelings exhibited by both sides. Even the media went nuts, because McCain was able to keep his choice a complete secret from them, and they didn't know until he announced it. That in itself makes me admire this man.

As for Palin, I believe she has the guts to fight for what she believes is right, and to win. I know everyone doesn't agree with her. I don't agree with her on many many issues. But nevertheless, I am voting for the McCain/Palin ticket, because I have heard Obama, and as far as I'm concerned, he is a socialistic dreamer who wants to give everyone everything and at our expense.

Don't be fooled by Obama's giveaway ideals, they are typical political fodder for the campaign trail, and if you fall for them, it will be you who are the loser, as the government takes over your life and runs it for you.

Stand up for yourself for god's sake, be an individual, make your way in the world without constant government handouts and decisions. Vote for freedom and independence from government control. Vote for McCain/Palin and be for free markets and a free life. It is what this country is all about, isn't it?

Or do you love Big Brother breathing down your neck. Your choice.
