Forget those upcoming boring political debates over the energy crisis, alternative fuel sources, the Middle East situation, relations with China, national health care, immigration and unemployment. Yawn.

Entertainment Weekly has asked John McCain and Barack Obama the really tough and meaty pop culture questions, and the answers may reveal the candidates' true natures and personalities as well as their ability to lead our country.

For the whole enchilada, click here and here. But here are some snippets of the presumptive Democratic and Republican presidential candidates views on movies, TV shows, "American Idol" and which superhero they want to be.

You may be surprised.

Here goes:

What was the first movie you saw as a child?

McCain: "Bambi." (did he...) Oh, yeah. When his mother was killed. Oh, yeah, I cried.

Obama: I don't remember the first movie, but I can tell you that one of the first was "Born Free." I remember that movie having an impact on me. I think I may have teared up at the end when they release [the lioness] Elsa. I couldn't have been more than 4 or 5, but I remember choking up on that.

Last movie seen in a theater?

For the answers, keep reading. You know you want to ...

Obama: "Shrek 3." Not as good as the original.

McCain: "Indiana Jones." I enjoyed that so much. The old guy wins.

Which superhero would you be?

McCain: Batman. He does justice sometimes against insurmountable odds. And he doesn't make his good works known to a lot of people, so a lot of people think he's just a rich playboy.

Obama: I was always into the Spider-Man/Batman model. The guys who have too many powers, like Superman, that always made me think they weren't really earning their superhero status. It's a little too easy. Whereas Spider-Man and Batman, they have some inner turmoil. They get knocked around a little bit.

Have you or your family ever voted for American Idol?

McCain reveals that his wife, Cindy McCain, voted for Jordin Sparks, who is from Glendale, Ariz.

Obama's girls voted. "I recall a vote was cast last season." (His family members were big fans of David Archuleta.)

Obama's comments are the best in my point of view.

He is the best person for that presendency position.

Noel, I disagree. Indiana Jones is more realistic compared to Batman/Spiderman.

I am voting McCain in the election. There are too many questions about Obama's true motives.

By the way, it's spelled "presidency".
