TwitterEllen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi to tie the knot Saturday
Emmy-winning talk show host Ellen DeGeneres and her longtime love Portia de Rossi are getting hitched -- call it their "dream wedding" -- Saturday with a small, intimate ceremony in Los Angeles.
Only 20 people -- friends and family -- are invited. So don't feel too left out.
Portia will wear a slinky gown by Zac Posen. Ellen, hmmm, slacks suit maybe? And sneakers, because you know there will be dancing.
DeGeneres announced their plan to wed on her talk show in May.
"It's something that we've wanted to do and we want it to be legal and we are very, very excited."
DeGeneres told reporters backstage at the Daytime Emmy Awards in June that she and De Rossi were formalizing heir "dream wedding." And she also gave De Rossi a pink diamond engagement ring.
"Yes, we have set a wedding date," said DeGeneres. "How do I feel about it? I obviously feel like it's long overdue. I think someday people will look back on this like women not having the right to vote and segregation and anything else that seems ridiculous that we don't all have the same rights."
But having to party plan the celebration of the same rights is hard. "Planning a wedding is very stressful," Ellen admits.
Yeah, but so is a divorce. Not trying to be a downer, just saying.
We look forward to seeing the gals walk down the Emmy red carpet in September as wife and wife.

Glad to see them both "tie the knot." Ellen is a great person, as well as a hilarious comedienne, so I wish them the best. Ellen went thru a depression when she "came out" and I know it was a trying part of her life, but she pulled out of it and came back stronger. I bet she's glad that the break up between her and Anne happened....because she's the one who came out on top!

Why is this being reported on like its a normal natural thing? This is so abnormal, unnatural, and perverse. Really, are we talking about a woman marrying another woman like its no big thing? This is the beginning of our country's downward spiral. If we dont draw the line somewhere, if we blur the lines between right and wrong untill there is nothing but grey, we will lose our identity and eventually our country.
marriage is the union between to people that are in love it does not state men or women and everyone should get over it by now!!!
I completely agree with whitey. This is disgusting! I really like Ellen, think she's a great talk show host, but come on. Thia country's going to hell in a bad way, and the immoral acts such as gays marrying are what's driving us there. God help us when we're okay enough with this to post pics of them everywhere and feel wonderful about it. It's sad. Very sad.
