Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's recent move to France has caused hordes of paparazzi to invade the tranquil southern area of the country.
And that can't be making longtime French resident Johnny Depp very happy.
A recent photo of Johnny Depp arriving at the Nice airport showed the angry actor flipping off photographers who were shooting him and his family. Not exactly a gesture one would expect from the gentle-natured actor.
Now comes news that Depp may be house hunting ... in England. And he may have his sights set ....
on two Norfolk estates, Flemings Hall and Claxton Manor, nine miles southeast of Norwich, clearly a pap-free zone.
Depp, his partner French actress/singer Vanessa Paradis and their two children, Lily-Rose and Jack, spend most of their time in Southern France. But Johnny may require a U.K. base for long-term stays when making films there.
He's reportedly prepping for the role of the Mad Hatter in Tim Burton's live-action/CGI "Alice in Wonderland", which will be shooting in London, just a 2 1/2 hour car drive (or about an hour by train) from Norwich.
Claxton Manor is a £5.5-million Elizabethan property (that's like $12 million) that has eight bedroom, six baths, with expansive private grounds.
But Johnny may also be checking out a place with its own vineyard, a 13th century house called Flemings Hall. And the latter has -- wait for it -- a moat!
Now that should keep the pesky paps at bay.
Then all he'd need is a dungeon in which to toss them.

No wonder Johnny is leaving! Brad and Angelina have ruined his family's home. They had a beautiful place where they could escape now it has been invaded. I fully support Johnny and his family.
Johnny was pissed b/c the paps were screaming at his kids to take their picture. He doesn't ***** his kids out and doesn't need to or owe it to anyone to "serve them up like french fries in a Happy Meal." He is as sweet as honey to his fans and even to most press folks WHEN he is working, but he is very private when he ISN'T working. It's ashame that there are people in this world who don't respect people's healthy boundaries and want to invade their rights for a buck. I won't buy magazines with these types of photos. I don't support this kind of harassment just for a pic. Peace out, ya'll...
I SUPPORT JOHNNY! Brad ruined Johnny's life!
Safe to say we admire Johnny for his acting chops and his desire to keep his family safe and out of the public eye. Which is the opposite to the HW group who recently moved there, perhaps mistakenly thinking it was just another HW hangout, only quieter. "Hey WE'RE just like the Depp family, right?"
Maybe they missed the point?
It's interesting the top talent invariably DO NOT want attention for personal business. Maybe because they're lauded enough for their abilities without the extras or something.
I support Johnny all the way, he's just as normal as the rest of us and deserves to be angry at the paparazzi and Brangelina becz look what they've done to his peaceful home. I hate Brangelina simply because they sell their kids pictures for millions of dollars whereas Johnny keeps his kids away from the paps and is letting them make there own mind abt being in the media becz they didn't know they were gonna be born into it
I'm with you "Heather". I have a lot of respect for Johnny and Vanessa anyway, but their decision to protect their children from the spotlight deepens my admiration for the couple. Children should never be pimped out to the highest bidder. I don't care if it is really for charity or just under that pretense. Jolie and Pitt, along with the rest of tinsel town's pinheads, have the means to donate to charity without selling their kids.
OMG...give me a friggin break...are all you so naive to think that Brad and Angelina are to blame for Johnny Depp's attitude? Whatever...that is the most pathetic thing i have ever heard. Brad and Angie did not "*****" their children out. They were offered the money for their kids, and it was used for charity...I don't recall Johnny or Vanessa being offer any amount of money for their kids....and I think that if they had they could and would've done the same thing. Brad and Angelina are very popular and people are very excited about these babies, and they know that people would buy the magazines to see them. I'm so sick of people who have nothing better to do than go though websites and badmouth people who they'd give their right arm to be....excuse me while I go to another site
I'm not sure that no one would ask Depp for a snap of his kids... someone might on a dare.

Charity money can be raised in other ways, other celebrities do it. It's not US who are naive.
I am sure Depp took this step to protect his kids from media. Maybe his kids do not like media buzzing around them or Johnny don't want media to stick around his kids
