Mary-Kate Olsen won't be forced to talk to DEA. Is it case closed?
Mary Kate Olsen will not have talk to the nasty DEA about where her close friend Heath Ledger may have gotten the drugs that killed him in January.
His body was found In his New York apartment by Olsen's masseuse, who then called Mary-Kate, who promptly sent over her bodyguards instead of an ambulance.
According to a story from the Associated Press, a law enforcement official said Wednesday that federal prosecutors in the U.S. attorney's office in Manhattan have decided not to pursue a criminal case into Ledger's drug-related death.
This followed the reports earlier this week that Mary-Kate had refused to talk to the Drug Enforcement Administration without immunity. The DEA had obtained a subpoena that could have forced Olsen to talk.
She denied any knowledge of Ledger drug connections.
But the subpoena, which was issued in April, is now toothless and useless because the prosecutors will not continue to pursue the case, according to the official.
With the prosecutors out of the picture, the DEA is off the case. And Mary-Kate is off the hook.
What do you think? Is this for the best? Should the DEA leave that poor l'il Olsen twin alone?
Or will we always wonder what Mary Kate knew? And why she wanted immunity...

You really need to proof read your articles.
Are you kidding me?!?! If this was any lower or middle class American they would have been taken in for questioning immediately and if they didn't talk, would have been charged with obstruction of justice. I don't know how just because she has millions of dollars she can just wash her hands of the whole situation. It really is sad to see things like this taking place time and time again with no repercussions what so ever.
She is too rich to have to worry about this kind of thing. The laws are made for poor people. Stop bothering this lady. She's immune to the drug laws and everybody knows that.

As scared as Olsen was and how quickly the case was shut down by the feds reminds me of the movie "The Bank Job." Makes you wonder which politician's kid was involved.
Was the headline written by you sub-contractor in India? "But it is case closed?"??????
The justice system has little to do with the truth. It is about who has more money and who is willing to blink first.
Her refusal to talk without full immunity was smart. It was checkmate. The government had no other choice.
We will always wonder what Mary Kate knows and why she wanted immunity. What is she hiding?
In this entertaining 27 minute video, Law professor James Duane explains why innocent people should NEVER talk to the police.

She's obivously guilty. Once somebody starts hiding behind lawyers and statutes to just avoid talking to the police, how hard is to see she is guilty?
Okay... fine, she's another Hollywood elite who just got away with murder. Just like OJ.
Congratulations, lame-a**ed legal system. You sure are protecting our "rights".
