Is Miley Cyrus' VF photo flattering or fugly? Vote NOW!
Just in case you were wondering, photographer Annie Leibowitz thinks her Vanity Fair photo of Miley Cyrus is "very beautiful."
Oh, yeah? On what planet?
"I'm sorry that my portrait of Miley has been misinterpreted," Leibowitz said in a statement released today. "Miley and I looked at fashion photographs together, and we discussed the picture in that context before we shot it.
"The photograph is a simple, classic portrait, shot with very little makeup, and I think it is very beautiful."
So let's leave out the questionable topless pose and assess the shot purely on the merits of whether or not it's a flattering photo of the "Hannah Montana" star. Click here to see the pic. Then vote!
Photo: For my money, Miley looks much prettier in this candid red carpet shot. But I guess it's not "artsy" enough for VF, huh? WireImage

When Miley came on the scene as a young fresh innocent girl, my wife and I almost cried wondering how long it would be before the music industry and the fame an wealth would turn this girl into just another Lohan or Brittany.
We are now shedding many tears. Such a shame. We were hoping that her parents had control of the situation, and apparently, they don't.
Back off of Miley. It's a beautiful shot, and the only reason people are still talking about it as a "scandal" is because of the internet. Thank god her bones aren't poking through her skin and you can't count her ribs! She looks healthy and beautiful and a normal weight! No anorexia here, and that is a very good thing!
I personally think it's a horrible photograph. She's pale, heavy makeup, and displays a look of just having sex. I normally think she's beautiful but this is a terrible photo.
Then Annie is a pedophile
Some people have rightly been calling "The Emperor is Wearing No Clothes" on Annie Leibowitz for a long time. Perhaps this is the right moment for people to wake up from their trance and realize this is true by looking at this Miley Cyrus photograph. Annie borrows and steals from lesser known photgraphers' styles and rides on the fame of the subjects to shift the limelight on her own brand name. Annie is nothing special - she knows the basics of a relatively mid-grade portrait photographer but just better at self-marketing.
Miley's parents should have looked at the photos before they signed the contract. Her father should have then asked himself; "What would a 50 year old man think about her being naked under that sheet?".
Even though she had clothes on, her father still should have asked himself the question and then asked Miley what she thought of it. I think she would have changed her mind.
My first question is not" Why is this 13 year old kid posing nude with a sheet wrapped around her?" It's not "What kind of dirt-bag opportunist adult too this shot?" My question is "What kind of dirt-bag opportunist does this kid have for a father?" Billie Ray should be taken out back a horse whipped for exploiting his child this way. This poor kid has no one looking out for her that has the sense God gave a soda cracker!
Anyone who has a problem with this picture has just that...(in other words, they have the problem). She is not sitting there posing like she was in Hustler, so please relax (if that were the case, that certainly would be wrong!). This is an artistic portrait and it is really very beautiful.
Please remember, the human form, in various states of undress has been an inspiration to (and subject of) artists for centuries. This (human form) includes people of all ages and that includes children, too. Artists like Degas, Klimt, Balthus and Schiele made many works where children were depicted and they are certainly accepted as beautiful art...
Anyone who has done business with Miley or Billy Ray knows that Disney approves every breath they take. This was not a set up or an accident. Disney and her parents approved the shot. And as Donnie Deutsch said this morning on "Today", it's a brilliant business move as she hits the next stage of her career. Those of you who see her naked under the sheet are the ones with problems.
Wow, lighten up. I think that the pic is actually quite lovely Annie Leibowitz is an artist with the camera. But I do think that the sheet was a lapse in judgement when it comes to a 15 year old.
