Indiana Jones is coming to Cannes! But will he bring his bullwhip? And will there be a run on felt adventure hats on the French Riviera?

John Hurt, who plays Abner Ravenwood in the film, blabbed about the Cannes Film Festival premiere to Jonathan Ross on his BBC talk show. But Hurt insisted he was sworn to secrecy about 'Indiana Jones  and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull' details.

Cate___blanchett__He did let it slip that Harrison Ford, who reprises his Indie role at age 65, is  "brilliant. I have nothing but good things to say about him. He understands that whole franchise. He is that franchise."

There's been buzz going around Hollywood for weeks that the film might screen at Cannes to give it an international PR push. And IMDb.com lists it's premiere as May 18, the first Sunday of the Cannes Film Festival. 'Skull' opens internationally that next week. But  there's no studio or festival confirmation about this. The fest's official lineup will not be announced for several weeks.

Also possibly screening at the 61st annual film fest, which starts on May 14: 'Kung Fu Panda' (Jack Black and Angelina Jolie are said to be attending) and 'Sex and the City: The Movie' (Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis, Cynthia Nixon, Chris Noth, and Jason Lewis) may make a big splash in at the seaside festival. Again, no confirmation on either film's Cannes plans from the studios.

But several A-list Hollywood personal stylists have been busy working with designers and their reps lining up gowns to wear to this historic international red carpet and post-party. The last time Spielberg was at Cannes for for "E.T. The Extra-Terrestial" back in 1982!

"Even though it hasn't been confirmed or formally announced, no one wants to be caught without a great dress to wear to this one," whispered one LA-based fashion placement person.

Understandably so!

The biggest question is whether Cate Blanchett will be able to make it. She told People months ago that her due date is April. And that's now! I can't see her coming with an infant. But we'll still get to see her onscreen wearing a black bob wig.

She looks amazing in the wig, but I think speak for many when I say that I sincerely hope this will end the Bob Craze for good.
