Cameron Diaz bows out of 'Vegas' press junket due to dad's death
Bad news for journalists hoping to talk to Cameron Diaz at this weekend's L.A. junket for "What Happens in Vegas."
The studio let some journalists know Wednesday night that Cameron Diaz is bowing out of the junket. Sources say that due to the sudden passing of Cameron's father, the actress is simply is not ready to do press at this time.
Can't say I blame the poor girl. The loss of a father -- or any parent -- is beyond devastating and she will need time to come to grips with it. Who would want to answer the inevitable lame and torturous questions about the movie, romance, gambling, luck and, oh yeah, how she feels about her dad's death?
All print interviews have been canceled for Ashton Kutcher and Cameron, who were skedded to do duet chats. But Ashton and Rob Cordry (who plays Ashton's best friend "Hater" in the film) may do some domestic and international press interviews together.
Cameron had previously canceled attendance at the London premiere of the film. Filming on her new movie, "My Sister's Keeper," was also suspended immediately after her dad's death. But it's not known if shooting has resumed.
Take all the time you need, Cameron. Prayers and condolences.

Sorry, but you are old and rich. Cut the cord! Do something for others and get out of your haed Caemeron. I was an orpan at 15 years old. Grow up!
It would be hard to be that beautiful, fun, energetic person that Cameron is - she can't be fake and the devastation of losing dad would make it impossible for her. She's doing the right thing. God Bless her.
who r u 2 judge some1 elses grief (Web)
Sorry to hear about Camerons loss! If she needs comforting she is welcome here anytime!?!
The nasty comment from "Web" about Cameron Diaz losing her dad suddenly is pathetic. What difference does it make to how intensely someone is grieving over the loss of a loved one whether or not the person grieving is rich, attractive and mature? Bizarre, A person can grieve intensely at any stage of their life, whether rich or poor, so those kinds of things don't factor into it at all. I lost my dad suddenly when I was 13 and my mum also died suddenly 5 years ago so I know what it is like to lose both parents, one when I was young and one when I was grown-up, and grief is grief regardless of circumstances. So, to "Web" I'd say grow up and be a bit more sympathetic to what other people have to go through.
Cant believe that God awful and purely nasty comment from web. Death is a leveller and it makes no difference how much money you have, or how old you have. the loss is the same. Web seems to have a bit of a chip on their shoulder about something or other. Never mind. Lots of love to Cam and the rest of her family at this time. Take whatever time you need .
really nice
That was shocking news about camerons dads death and what was even more shocking was when that stupid hollywood reporter asked her how she felt about it. I wonder how you would feel about death. That reporter has no conscience. Thats why i dont watch news anymore its always bad.
I just wait for the movie to come out and then decide for myself if i liked it or not.
