We were talking to Allison Janney in the On3 Productions Gift Lounge when her "Juno" costar Ellen Page won her Spirit Award.
"I'm wearing Missoni today," Janney told us. "Tomorrow, I'm going to the InStyle viewing party, then to the Fox Searchlight party."
Suddenly, there was a loud applause as Ellen's name was announced.
"Oh no! I can't believe I just missed her! I'm so happy for her! I can't believe I wasn't in there! I feel so ashamed! I was here getting free stuff!"
Oh, don't worry. She'll never find out.

What a hateful twizzat.
I think it is truly awful that Allison Janney values free promotional crap over supporting her costars. I will never forget this slight, and if Ellen wins an Oscar, I hope that she calls Allison out on this from the Oscar podium.
It's understandable that she wasn't there. I mean, I'm sure sitting there is boring, and if she had known that Ellen's award was coming up soon, she would have been there. Give her a break.
Allison Janney is such a sweet woman - there's no way she would have intentionally left the audience if she knew that Ellen Page's category was up next. She's got long legs you know, and I'm sure she just needed to stretch them! Every star spends a little time in the swag tents, and hers just happened to coincide with when Ellen won her award. She probably didn't realize this, and has probably apologized profusely to Ellen - just like she apologized to the reporters. Allison is a wonderful actress, and such a kind and loving person, so let's all just forgive and forget. We know she'll never do it again.
