Rumor is that Helen Mirren is having the final fittings on her Oscar gown this weekend.

And it's a gown designed by Paris-based designer George Chakra.

That's all I know so far.

Guess the Oscar/Globe/SAG/ETC award winner wants to be sure she has a proper dress lined up, just in case there really is an Oscars in February. Or April.

But Mirren wowed us last year with a season-long fashion show of stunning gowns by A list designers such as Donna Karan, Morgane Le Fay and Giorgio Armani. So why Chakra?

Now are you ready for the really unsettling part?

Check out what Chakra designed for another celebrity to wear to the 2006 Emmy Awards. No really, check it out.

Somehow I can't see elegant, classy Helen Mirren in something as over-the-top as Tyra Bank's $50,000 sheer black lace fishtail hem Chakra gown.

But I could be wrong. Right?

No matter who she wears, she will pick the most stunning design that's offered, and it will be dignified elegance.
