Nicole Kidman says she doesn't believe the claims of certain religious groups that her new film, "The Golden Compass," has an anti-Christian message.
"I was raised Catholic, the Catholic Church is part of my essence," she's told press. "I wouldn't be able to do this film if I thought it were at all anti-Catholic."
She was persuaded to play the role of the stunningly evil Mrs. Coulter by Philip Pullman, the author of "Compass," the first book in his popular children's trilogy, "His Dark Materials."
"He sent me a letter detailing why he wanted me to play the role," she told Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS-FM (102.7) radio show. "I couldn't say no."

At the London premiere, Kidman wore a pale cream satin buckle-bodice Balenciaga gown and posed for photos with her shaggy-haired country-singer hubby, Keith Urban.
Just between you and me, the lack of contrast between her icy frock, deathly pale skin, mortician's makeup and way-too blonde hair makes her look like a necrophiliac's dream date.
Lay off the bleach and try a touch of self-tanner, Nic. You're starting to frighten the children.

That's it.
It is very silly to comment on someone's looks based on one picture. Most people who have seen Nicole Kidman in person find that her skin glows and looks radiant and translucent, definitely not deadly pale. Further, hot or not, Nicole Kidman has the wisdom of protecting her beautiful skin from skin cancer. I've never understood Caucasians' obsession with sun/tan. Once you are plagued with skin cancer, you may not even have a chance to walk or spit venoms on someone's looks.
She also said the movie had been "watered down" from the book. So as long as the movie is okay, who cares what the books are like. And yes, I have read them.
She is stunning. A true movie star. It is very strange to me that this site chooses to pick on a real actress rather than the many tabloid stars in Hollywood.
Leave this woman alone.
Entertainers hope to entertain us; leave the negative comments about personal issues out of print; let us speak about her success/lack of success at entertaining us as an actor!!!!!

Good grief--I am so tired of everyone dumping on Nicole Kidman--can she help it because she was born with good genes, a beautiful complexion, and at the age of 40, looks like she's in her twenties? Can she help it because her devotion to her art has made her one of the wealthiest women in the world? Can she help it because she has a loving and adoring husband? Envy and jealousy are terrible emotions and are simply a waste of energy. This very talented couple has done many good deeds and devoted much of their talent to raising money for disabled and terminal children--why not look at the good things they do for a change instead of writing articles that appear to be hungrily looking to find fault or desperately trying to find something to ridicule this couple for-- or is the milk of human kindness missing or simply lost forever?
