Dita Von Teese will NOT straddle a torpedo-sized tube of MAC lipstick like the one she rode at the amFAR event in Cannes at Thursday's Macy's 25th Annual Passport AIDS fundraiser in Los Angeles.

"I think it's considered a bit too risque for the Macy's event," Von Teese told me today by phone. Instead, she'll end up kicking back in a giant champagne glass after stripping off a silver gown with 250,000 Swarovski crystals.

Ditavont_georg_13981435_600"The champagne-glass finale is a classic burlesque routine," she explained, adding that the art originated in the early '30s and was popular entertainment for both men and women.

"Burlesque was much racier in those days than it is now. It's amazing to me how much more conservative our culture has become about nudity and the female body."

For instance, she cannot even begin to understand all the furor over vegetarian Alicia Silverstone's "nude" photo for PETA. "You don't even see anything, just her hip," Von Teese says. "It's so strange!"  Decide for yourself! Click HERE!

As well as performing her titillating act, Von Teese, MAC's new Viva Glam rep, will present a $30,000 check from the cosmetic company to Alexis Hefley, founder of Empower African Children.

"I remember when I was working at a makeup counter, I would always sneak over to the M.A.C counter to buy their makeup," Von Teese recalls. "And when they first came out with the Viva Glam lipsticks 100% donation to AIDS research with RuPaul as their spokesman, I thought the company was so cool. Now they have raised $100 million. That' a lot of lipstick!"
